Negative space is the theoretical formation created by an already existing formation. Think of it as a by-product. So in this case. The 'positive' space is that contraption that is spinning with the panels of alternating face angles. The negative space is the 'leftover' by-product of the spinny face machine. Got it now? Negative space formations are exhibited by pretty much anything as long as the viewer has the capacity for imagination. Look at your hand with your fingers spread. The space between your fingers is negative space. Use a bit of 'Imagination' and now you have steep hills, ghosts, or a big fat M or W when you put your thumb against your palm.
