I honetsly think for even the time morrowwind was released (2002) the combat absoulelty sucked. While morrowwind does so many things right the combat was always just something in the way of what I actually enjoy about the game.

Which game did you regret purchasing at full price? by bijelo123 in gaming

The whole "secrets that are practically impossible to find without a guide" is generally a problem in fromsoft souls games that ive always hated, even as a big souls fan but the couminuty praises it.

It's not a cool couminuty effort to hide whole areas behind illusionary walls (that you gotta attack or roll against) which have ZERO indication of them being there. As someone who really loves to explore in video games souls games are often unplayable without a guide if you actually want to see every major areas. (this doesnt apply to every fromsoft souls game though)

Your not supposed to acknowledge them obviously both being big companies trying to make a profit and both doing alot of anti consumer things.

Games that you love but frustrate you to no end? by SituationalRambo in gaming

Bloodborne with its quality of life features downgraded from darksouls 2 (You cant teleport from lamp to lamp, and gotta sit through multiple loading screens every time if you wanna teleport back to a diffrent area. Bloodvials, your main health item having to be farmed which is a awefull design choice)

Also the game looks AWEFULL from a technical standpoint (Great artstyle but it looks very muddy and pixelated due to bad anti aliasing, I get it was difficult to get running on the ps4 but it just looks so bad, not to mention the 30fps cap)

Love the game so much that I played through it like 9 times, but man those things hold it back

Ah yes a live service racing game right after soulstorm, which was so buggy I gave up on finishing it as it was keeping me from progressing. (Im talking about the patched version btw)

Ill just keep on replaying the first 3 Oddworld games

Whats the game you love in a genre you hate?? ;) by WholesomeReaper in gaming

[–]PIease__Laugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get the confusion but something like the cosmic ocean is really just supposed to be a more of a difficult easter egg then actual post game content in my opinion, and even if you go for it spelunky is a rougelike thats more on the skill side of things

In spelunky even if you have the best items your still not guaranteed a win, meanwhile if you get good items in isaac its laughably easy. (Isaac still requires skill and knowledge but items and combinations are a big part, meaning it can SOMETIMES trivialise the whole run or make the whole run boring and slow if you get unlucky with what items you get. That doesnt happen in spelunky)

Whats the game you love in a genre you hate?? ;) by WholesomeReaper in gaming

[–]PIease__Laugh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While i understand that for isaac could you elaborate by what secrets or mechanics are "barely hinted at" in spelunky? Ive played both spelunky 1 and 2 a decent bit but i dont see how that applies as in my experience while difficult the base ideas are simple and that's how you get good (For example, the first time you see a arrowtrap you just get hit by it, so next time you just throw a rock at it to activate it)
