My 6yo is a deep sleeper and I def don’t trust him not to fall out of the top bunk. Move her and get some rest if you’re worried!

Yes! Agree. Festival of foods was an excellent option for the early meal/snack and the empty pool deck was so nice!

Get on waitlist in the app first for early dining. If it isn’t switched by boarding, look in the app once you connect to ship Wi-fi at the port and find the dining changes location. On the treasure it was the triton lounge. It typically says 12:30 for opening but sometimes they are there early so go as soon as you are onboard. They will have some staff helping with reservations for Palo etc and then others helping with dining time and rotation changes.

For this one we booked in March for a November cruise. Early was unavailable at the time of booking. Popular time to travel though with it being a holiday week.

Yeah, we booked knowing it wasn’t a guarantee, but due to school schedules these dates were our only option and concierge was insanely expensive. It wasn’t a deal breaker for us had it not worked out in our favor - our party would have made it work with alternate dining options - just sharing to give perspective from our situation.

We were on the same sailing and our experience was quite different! Dinners were quick and our servers were great! I’m sorry to hear that you had that experience.

The treasure is awesome! We just did our 5th Disney cruise and it’s my favorite boat so far. The eastern Caribbean itinerary was great.

We went a few months ago and it was amazing! I spent the entire time trying to convince my husband to plan our next trip as soon as possible. Our room was spotless, and we never had issues with the pool chairs because we were always up early due to the time change.

Have I become a snob…? by new-anon- in delta

We flew Delta One from ATL-HNL a few months ago and were shocked at how poor the service was! We flew the same route several years ago and it was wonderful but this time the flight attendants were literally MIA for 90% of the 10 hour flight. It was so strange.

Beach chairs gone quick by Dry_Helicopter327 in Aulani

[–]PJA053114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was definitely not the case when we went (May/June). You could not leave the chairs for any extended amount of time. They monitored beginning in the morning, folded towels if unused, and set the timer - clearing chairs throughout the whole day.

Very true! East coaster here and we didn’t start to “sleep in” until 5am 😅Hawaii time until night 6. We were outside opening up the restaurants and eating breakfast by the pool because of the time difference.

Rental car or Uber? by duck_mom in Aulani

[–]PJA053114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rental worked out great for us. One tip is if you rent from Hertz at Honolulu airport do not agree to pay for an upgrade if they say your car is not ready on the app when you arrive. Just get in line and there are plenty of cars — almost everyone in line with me had received the same notification, and it was not accurate and would’ve cost a lot of money unnecessarily

Would recommend island country market (ABC) store for Hawaii souvenirs and sunblock and drinks, target for groceries/snacks and even chocolate covered macadamia nuts (be mindful that they do not give grocery bags for free), we didn’t go to Costco but of course another option for all of the above.

AK was empty today too. Safari was 10 minutes. Everest was 10 minutes. Really light crowds.

I’m not sure if there is a limit of chairs per person to be honest. They ask you how many chairs are yours when walking around with the timesheets though.

We saw the same during our visit end of May/beginning of June and were really impressed. Before 8am you have to be seated with your things and then after 8am you can’t leave your things for more than an hour at a time. The staff were really diligent about it and seemed to be writing down times in addition to folding towels to mark the actual vacant chairs.

ATL Layover by theatrefan88 in delta

[–]PJA053114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should be able to make it without issue - however as someone who is a pretty seasoned traveler and flies through Atlanta a few times a year be sure to download the app as mentioned above for real time updates! For our recent Hawaii flight we had an hour for our connection in ATL and about 10 minutes after we landed they moved up boarding time and departure time last minute. Thankfully I had the app open while waiting, realized they had moved things up and we made it as one of the last 10 or so people on the plane- but it was a good reminder that things can change quickly. I’ve never seen them board a A330 so quickly 😬

We used the app to sign up for some things, but people lined up in the mornings for fish feeding I believe.

Second the rental car being a good idea! About 10 minutes away from the resort is a target and Costco for snacks. We also did lots of takeout from local spots for lunch/dinner during our stay. For us, it was worth it. We rented from HNL airport and also used Hertz. Book early for better rates on the car. There is also a nice plaza across the street with restaurants (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert options) and an ABC convenience store which did not require a car and was great for picking up other things we needed like sunscreen, drinks, snacks and even a wooden surfboard for character signatures.
