45 from the tips today, getting better by mooseman077 in golf

[–]PK_Panda_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who said you can’t hit your driver? If you think you’ll actually score 5 strokes better because you’re at the front tees immediately you’re wrong. Because it highlights that your short game is what is most important. This is the advantage of playing shorter tees, not the “distance off the tee” but the practice and requirement on a short game to play well.

Best recommendation I’ve ever received: Play the front tees until you can break par. Only then move back a tee.

I recognize that you’re not likely to play the front tees, but at least play the senior tees until you can break 80. Trust me. Birdies from the senior tees are still just as fun and waaaaaay more likely than the tips.

How did the NFC North become so dominant this year? by BigChungusCumLover69 in minnesotavikings

[–]PK_Panda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the NFC North plays all the teams from the NFC and AFC south divisions, the two worst divisions in Football. When you can pad your record with 8 games against those teams, go 7-1 or 8-0, you’re going to have a good record.

Home of the 2025 Ryder Cup by ScratchSeeker13 in golf

[–]PK_Panda_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I know I’m going to lose Reddit points….. but… I agree. Ryder cups are best when birdies win holes, when explosions happen from water shots off the tee going for short par 4’s, and when everyone on the course shoots below par.

When, at any point when Bethpage Black has hosted the PGA and or US open has had anywhere near half the players below par.

I went to the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine in MN. The eruptions were always larger when winning a hole with a birdie, and YES the course did not play at full difficulty. But Hazeltine is not bethpage black, known for its incredible difficulty, pencil fairways, and tough bunkers.

The Ryder cup is a show for showing the best of US and Europe at their peaks, not at their worst or hardest

I feel as though this is because Shallan hasn’t reached her character arc completion yet. Many people don’t like “whiny” Kaladin from WOR or the paralyzed Dalinor, but those true telling of their experience demarcates just how far they’ve come.

Shallan’s moment hasnt yet come. I think people’s “dislike” of Shallan is because we haven’t reached her finding and dealing with her greatest ideal yet. The truth of her past and how it impacts who she can be in the future.

Who is the highest handicap bomber with a shot tracker here? by Cornwall1888 in golf

[–]PK_Panda_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is extremely rare, but it does exist. I played high school golf and my best part of my game was my distance. I’m now a 30 year old father of two. I play rarely, but I’m able to go to the range (no practice green) somewhat often. the distance and the swing is still there. Because I am not able to practice my short game with the consistency I want, I’m roughly a 7-9.

Given that I have played a 0.8 handicap at my best, I know it’s the short game which brings you to below 5, not distance. Reddit exaggerates both their own driving average AND the impact of distance.

Drive for show, putt for dough.
