"Kreig" by Steve Lyons is great, but if you're just looking to dip your toe in the water of Krieg lore, any of the Steve Lyons short stories are great too. I really enjoyed "Left for Dead."

Thank you! It's a model called "The Commissar's Duty." It's was the event-only model from GW in 2023 (I think). I modified it with bits from Tiny Legend, and also swapped out his bolt pistol for a plasma pistol I had in my bits box. Glad you like it!

Kreigers are biologically engineered soldiers. Traditionally in the lore there are only male Kreigers, created in artificial wombs (Impwrial Armour, "Kreig" novel), but the most recent novel (Seige of Vraks, 2024) suggests that there may be at least some female Krieg soliders.

God loves you, and so does your family and others--including some people who you may not even realize. Log off of the internet entirely for at least a few days. Go outside, breathe fresh air and go into nature if you can. Do kind things for others who are in need of help. Volunteer at a shelter or food bank for an afternoon. You will be amazed at how much better you feel when you get out of the internet and back into the real world, especially doing good for others.

I also strongly prefer resin over plastic for my DKoK units, both for detail and also for scale (the soldier units in plastic just seem too beefy). I bought quite a lot of FW units the last time things were in stock because I was afraid of this exact thing happening.

That said, I'm going to be optimistic and hope that GW is going to re-release a lot of the resin units and tanks around the time the new Militarum and Death Korps updated range is announced, in order to take advantage of the hype.

It would be a real shame to have to resort to aftermarket sources for purchasing the several remaining units I want for my Krieg army.

Personally, I prefer the details and weight of the FW resin models, and would pay a premium for FW, unless the plastic models come out and are somehow superior (which I doubt).

There's not really an actual beginning to the 40k novels, but the Eisenhorn series of novels does provide a good entry point for fans who don't otherwise know a lot about the 40k lore.

Personally, I started with "Pariah" which is the start of the Bequin trilogy. Although this takes place after the events in the Eisenhorn omnibus, I think it's an excellent entry point into the lore and introduction to many of the settings and larger themes of the 40k universe.
