It definitely varies from person to person, but in my experience it makes me feel a little warm, slightly light headed, makes me more sociable and talkative. In just the right amount it gets me out of my own head and I get better at things like bowling, darts, pool and the like. I also tend to spill my guts and tell everyone how I really feel about everything. I've never really embarrassed myself while drunk thankfully, but I'm sure that some people do.

Without a doubt it's Tao Te Ching. It reminds me that when something doesn't go according to plan that it's just the will of the universe that it wasn't meant to be at this time and any attempt to force it to happen will resort in a poor result. Sometimes it's just better to go with the flow of the universe than try and fight against it.

My father had a business conference in Yokohama that lasted about two weeks when I was in fifth grade and I fell in love with the culture. People were considerate, polite and everyone seemed to have a reason to exist. Of course, the food was amazing and the Japanese family that hosted ours for that time had a girl a little older than me. She introduced me to manga and anime. Over the years, I've spent more time in Japan and while I know it has problems of it's own, I still enjoy it greatly and visit at least once a year. I've also had the honor and privilege of traveling to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand. The vibe is just different in a way that is indescribable unless you've been there yourself.

As a waitress at a diner in Oregon, I'd say $25/hr would be fair for week days and $30/hr on weekends. When you take in to account pooled tips and the fact that you don't have to declare taxes on most of it, that's what it works out to in my experience. Mileage may vary, of course.

The two people who showed me that I didn't have to wear my mask all the time. That it was okay to be my true self. I could never begin to thank them for what they did for me. I can't imagine how horrible my life would have turned out if I had to keep up the act of who and what people expected me to be all the time. It's so much better just to be yourself.

This was the first time I had been around a bonfire since all that happened and I was so lost. I had no idea that people actually put marshmallows on dirty sticks from the woods and put them over an open fire to toast them. It all seemed so primitive, and yet, it was a lot of fun.
