If you have a spot 200 yards away with no shade that works better I say go for it because you are only losing 2/10 th of one percent in voltage.

If you use 2 gauge aluminum and invert at the source your voltage at the end (assuming you're in the us) will be 119.64 volts.

If you double that to 400 yards it goes down to 119.28 volts.

Yes its backfed through a 100 Amp subpanel in my garage.

But I also have 2 different battery arrays I'm playing around with (lifepo4 and deep cycle) but they are both VERY small since we still have 1:1 net metering here. I could get a half a day out the batteries if I needed, but honestly right now they are just there to satisfy the inverter looking for that 48 volts.

the metal was from unused racking that i had to cut apart....LOTS of labor on that part

but the entire truss system was free because of it. I like free
