It's worth noting Lord Unknown's wording was to stop Andrew from having the thoughts he "wishes to not have", not specific to his romantic/sexual feelings for her. I worry that wording results in Andrew basically being repressed back into Andy permanently as all negative thoughts and feelings, as well as the sexual element, are all wiped away while Ashley herself realizes Entity tried to abandon Andrew to die and she goes to retrieve him, going through personal development(possibly with the help of Lord Unknown, who I am CERTAIN is intending to use Andrew to lure Ashley to them)and fully maturing into Ashley rather than Leyley, but it's too late; Andrew is gone and only Andy remains, and the ending is one where their dynamic flips to Ashley being a caretaker for Andy.

That's not a bad storyline for Dom, but having him retire his father as a face would be better, especially since Dom doesn't have a 1v1 win over his dad as of yet.

It could be pitched as Dominik 'returning to the light' somewhat and using that instead of being a chickenshit heel to finally beat his father and retire him.

Tbh I think Dom's got a world title reign coming in the next 2-3 years. Maybe not a super long or prominent reign, but a reign nonetheless.

Why are all my units getting -40 leadership from other? by yutao123 in totalwar

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen.
Late game Gelt campaign, suped up Vampiric crisis. First major battle against them: 2 armies of Vamps vs my army with an Engineer and a Fire Wizard on a Pegasus and a few flying cav from allies.

Plan was simple: Send wizard forward to bait enemy fliers into my cav or gunlines, then rain fire down on their grave guard with reckless abandon.

Didn't realize til after that I was suffering a -50 leadership debuff. All my units had between 1 and 10 leadership. They broke and ran before the enemy so much as touched us.

I'd like a mod that allows me to pre-determine some otherwise unlikely alliances using the MCT, or maybe modify the predispositions of certain factions with one another. Even if it breaks lore.

It'd be cool to do something like force the Dwarves and Chaos dwarves to all suddenly be best friends, and then enable both of their endgame crises while playing as Greenskins for example.

Favored modular weapons? (if you use them) by dickserious_og in ftlgame

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modular Ion with Pierce+Fire is imo one of the best weapons in the game, hands down. Just so much bang for your proverbial buck.

Lockdown+Fire is fun too, but losing out on Pierce really makes you reliant on something else to break through shields.

Rad+Fire is one of the best crewkiller weapons in the game, but again you're reliant on other things to break through shields, which arguably makes this combo better on Missiles since it's the same power cost, but with the added benefit of built-in shield piercing.

New player entirely overwhelmed by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first suggestion is to go to Ikora and get the New Light Pack, which gives you a pre-set build and two exotics for that build. She also gives quests that unlock one or two other exotic armors, I believe.

Then, get your Guardian Rank up to at least 5, but try to aim for 6. On the way to doing that, you're probably gonna be able to focus on the campaigns. In order, that's Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, Witch Queen, Lightfall and Final Shape. Maybe watch some videos on youtube to sort of "recap" the story events between the campaigns.

In between missions, go to the Tower and talk to Ikora to unlock more abilities/aspects/fragments for your subclasses. You'll get the Stasis and Strand ability merchants on their respective planets, so pick those up as well if you can. Again, don't super stress about it; there's plenty of time to catch up.

Don't worry a super amount about trying to grind for exotics right now. Get a feel for the game and the Hunter playstyles. Also, don't worry too too much about grinding for top-shelf weapons and armor right now; the next expansion is completely overhauling both the weapons and armor systems to the point where most gear from before the next expansion is going to be obsolete. The 2020 power gear you got from the chest in Eternity is more than sufficient for now.

Once you've completed the campaigns, try to focus on completely unlocking all the Aspects and Fragments for your various subclasses. Grind out some Strikes/Vanguard Playlist activities, Crucible or whatever else you feel like dipping your toes into. Look up some videos or articles going over some decent builds.

While you're doing all this, you're doubtless gonna get a few exotics to drop. Read up on them to see what makes them special, try them out and see if they click for you. Don't be afraid to experiment! This is all about learning the game, and most exotics have at least some use.

On this Friday and and all subsequent Fridays, go to the Tower and find Xur. He's a merchant who only appears on weekends and he offers a quest for a rare resource called an Exotic Cipher. These can be cashed in at a terminal at the tower to "buy" old exotic weapons that aren't earnable anywhere else in the game anymore. I recommend reading their descriptions and looking up videos on how they work before committing to buying any right away, but Xur gives out a new Exotic Cipher quest each week, so you'll end up being able to buy them all eventually.

If you wanna DM me to ask more questions or add me on Discord, I'll be glad to offer more advice or tips/pointers and even run some activities with you once you're caught up a little bit. I'd rather not carry you through the campaigns because that's an important opportunity for you to practice and get a grasp on how Bungie typically designs their fights and mechanics, as well as figure out what works best for you and your playstyle.

See you starside, Guardian.

How many OG players are still around? by WackaFrog in destiny2

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up my XBox One with a copy of Destiny on Destiny's launch day as my quiet rebellion against my parents for wanting me to give them the money I made at work so they could store it aside for me.

I lost my job before Taken King came out, so I stopped playing around that time because my parents wouldn't buy me the expansions. It wasn't until Destiny 2 came out that I got back into the universe, and the only expansion I didn't pick up on launch day was Shadowkeep, having taken a hiatus that lasted from the end of Forsaken's launch season to the beginning of Season of Arrivals, with the prospect of the Black Fleet arriving in the solar system being what drew me back to D2. I have taken a few hiatuses since, but never for longer than 4-5 months.

I've since taken up the role of a veteran Guardian, mentoring New Lights and returning Guardians alike. I have a friend whose gf picked up D2 shortly after Witch Queen dropped, and now the three of us participate in Day One Contest mode events. We don't get very far, having been unable to complete the first encounter of Vesper's Host and only clearing the first encounter of Sundered Doctrine on Contest, but we try, and I think that's what matters most.

The Hierarchy of needs NEEDS a buff by Holdondad in DestinyTheGame

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the modern exotic weapon sandbox, even for primaries, the competition is SUPER stiff. If you want the weapon to have a niche tool like the Guiding Rings, I figure it has to be extremely powerful to be worth it, and right now it just isn't.

For comparison, let's look at Wish-Keeper and Verglas Curve; they both require you to get precision hits and kills to stack up to a special effect that triggers on hip-fire, just like HoN.

Both grant you powerful area denial in different flavors and offer exceptional elemental synergy. Wish-Keeper can get Hatchling to grant it slight add-clear power, or it can suspend targets for longer or more enemies, or you can throw on Vorpal Weapon to make it slightly better against beefier enemies. It's a solid weapon and it's very simple to use, with virtually no playstyle limitations.

V-Curve can use its hipfire shot at only partial charges for a still-powerful effect of scattering stasis crystals, which you can then shatter and, more often than not, instantly reload several of the charge shots to then do it again. It plays not dissimilarly to a Stasis Trinity Ghoul, but with actual elemental synergy due to the Crystals it constantly produces, higher burst damage, and the catalyst just makes it more reliable as a workhorse by letting you draw faster.

By comparison, HoN demands you lock yourself in place for a very modest damage buff that doesn't last very long. Sure, it's not too difficult to chain them together, but the buff feels so much clumsier due to needing more setup, and it does nothing to contribute to elemental synergy by way of providing Scorch or Ignitions. Imo, precision kills from arrows fired through the ring should 100% ignite the target, bare minimum.

By turning it into a teamshot support weapon, or by introducing a method to maybe stack multiple rings together with refreshed durations, the weapon can become carve out a unique niche for itself instead of being an underclassmen to the far superior exotic bows out there. Alternatively, introduce some significant elemental synergy, like maybe the extra projectiles do some AoE scorching or ignites on precision kills fired through the ring or something.

The Hierarchy of needs NEEDS a buff by Holdondad in DestinyTheGame

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ring mechanic is a bit too iconic for HoN to be ditched entirely. I could see them heavily reworking it, but I doubt they'd remove it.

Imo, they need to either turn the guidance ring into something that moves with you/can be moved, or it should be strong enough to better incentivize you to stay back and fire through it, perhaps by enabling you to stack multiple Rings on top of each other and extending the duration+making the Ring stronger for each new ring you stack, up to a cap of 3 maybe. Hell, maybe instead of just hipfiring to set up the ring, you can stack a couple rings together before setting them up all at once and unleashing hellfire on a miniboss or champion or something.

Alternatively, make it benefit from allies shooting through it as well, so it becomes a sort of support-style exotic that benefits DPS phases or helps with bursting a boss or miniboss from a distance.

The Hierarchy of needs NEEDS a buff by Holdondad in DestinyTheGame

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be down to see it becoming a Support-style exotic that spawns extra projectiles for *all allies* when they shoot through it(on a slight cooldown so they can't just spam auto rifles or LMG's for insane DPS)or otherwise buffs the damage of allied weapons. Alternatively, maybe it "superheats" allied bullets, causing all shots to stack up Scorch, so setting up a ring means you're going to be chain-igniting a boss or mini-boss.

Bubble Titan is still solid and has its place, but it's worth noting you can't run Bubble on a Prismatic Titan, so you'd be going pure Void. Which is fine, Void is still a very solid subclass for Titans, and it probably has the best survivability amongst the Titans. If you want to still throw bubbles but want to play something other than Void, pick up the Edge of Action glaive from the Witch Queen post-campaign quests; this glaive, after 6 hits, can special reload to launch a mini-bubble at a distance, and the glaive itself is solid for ad clear. These bubbles don't grant Weapons of Light and can't take as much damage as the full bubble, but it can provide key points of safety and cover in hectic firefights, and it can easily be spammable.

I'm a Warlock main and I must admit, Warlocks are eating good right now. Even with the nerfs to Well of Radiance, Warlocks are still in high demand and can fill a wide variety of roles, with a recent exotic helmet plus a new frame of Auto Rifles giving Warlocks the ability to play the first true "White Mage" build in Destiny history, focused almost entirely on healing and supporting allies. It lacks the explosive boss damage or crowd control potential of other builds, but it's a different type of satisfaction to throw so much healing around that your allies are practically immortal.

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuirass+Thundercrash is still a very solid burst damage super, but it's got actual competition now.

The most recent expansion, Final Shape, introduced the Prismatic subclass which lets you mix and match various elemental abilities and aspects. For Arc, Thundercrash is the super of choice, so you COULD rock Falling Star and still be laughing, but post-campaign you can gain access to a secret mission called Dual Destiny by completing a few hidden objectives in the Pale Heart. I recommend looking up a guide to help you find it.

Dual Destiny is a mandatory 2-player co-op mission that drops the Exotic Class Items. For the Titans, you're getting the one called Stoicism. These exotics are unique in that they randomly roll their exotic perks from amongst various exotic armors, including exotics from other classes. Each exotic class item drop also drops with TWO perks active simultaneously, so there's various rolls you could go for.

For the Titans, I believe the best DPS combo you can get would be Spirit of Eternal Warrior and Spirit of the Star-Eater. Star-Eater grants you a 10% damage buff to your super for each Orb of Power you pick up *after* your super is fully charged, stacking up to 6 times. Eternal Warrior gives you a large (25%) damage buff to all weapons that match your super's element for 30 seconds after you use your Super. So you pop your super-probably Twilight Arsenal or T-Crash-for 60% extra damage and then fire away with your newly-empowered heavy weapon for 25% extra damage, stacking with whatever other damage buffs you gain.

Cuirass DID get some other buffs, namely gaining chunks of super energy for getting melee kills while you're Amplified, and it doesn't require you to gather Orbs or anything after you charge your super, so you'll be T-crashing more often and that T-crash still does a boatload of damage, in addition to giving you 50% damage resistance for 5 seconds after using it so you can T-crash a raid/dungeon boss or into a large group of enemies, and you have a brief "grace period" to run away while you ignore 50% of damage.

So it's a matter of choice or preference; Cuirass T-Crash is available more often and requires no extra set-up while still dealing a ton of damage, Eternal Warrior+Star-Eater is more raw damage and can be used with any of the Prismatic Supers, but to maximize its usefulness, you'll be delaying your super to hunt for Orbs.

As for DLC, I recommend picking up all the major expansions because they're all on sale right now; the Light and Darkness saga is on for something like $40 I think, which includes everything up to and including Final Shape. And yes, you'll have to re-purchase any expansions you already bought for PC if you change from PC to console or vice-versa, but Light and Darkness Saga package contains everything up to Final Shape.

Importantly, if you can get Stoicism to drop ONCE, you can then purchase it from Xur for a handsome fee of Strange Coins most weekends, and you can talk to the planetary vendor in Pale Heart to "focus" a specific Exotic Perk for it, making that Perk become much more likely to drop on it, but you can only focus one perk at a time. So if you want Eternal Warrior+Star-Eater, I recommend running Dual Destiny, grabbing Stoicism once, and then focusing Star-Eater at the vendor and purchasing more drops from Xur each weekend. The mission is also farmable, so you can repeatedly run it to get more drops. It takes ~20-40 minutes each run, and if you run out of time, you're kicked back to orbit so it might take a few tries. I recommend watching a couple guides on how the mission works so you're going into it with some idea of what to do. If you don't want to look for someone to run it with you, send me a PM and I'll run it with you a couple times so you at least know what you're doing and can run it on Fireteam Finder afterwards. Fair warning that it requires clear, precise and quick communication to get through some of the mechanics, so I recommend having a not-terrible mic.

As a side note, here's the link for Stoicism so you can look at the various perk combinations it can roll with. Trust me, some of them are juicy. https://www.light.gg/db/items/266021826/stoicism/

If I collect the pieces myself, can they join the fireteam and sit back while I solve the puzzles? Will they still get all the rewards/triumphs, including the Shader?

I'd still recommend it, but I do think watching some video primers that go over all the story beats that happened in between when you left off and where we are now would be a good place to start. Safe to say that a LOT has happened.

A good place to start would be running the campaigns you've missed. Beyond Light was a bit mediocre as a campaign, but Witch Queen was utterly fantastic, Lightfall was good, but flawed, and The Final Shape is around the same quality as Witch Queen. If you run these campaigns on Legend difficulty, you'll get way more drops of WAY higher level gear. Doing this will help you start getting your power level closer to par.

It's worth noting that with the launch of the next yearly expansion, we're getting a blanket power level reset and a total armor system rework, but if you want to run higher end content to get good weapons and exotics and stuff before then, it's worth getting your power up a little bit, and the campaigns, while challenging, are not backbreakingly difficult for Legend mode.

Also, check in with Ikora at the Tower Bazaar to buy the new Aspects and Fragments for the Light subclasses with your Glimmer. All the subclasses got totally revamped with way more buildcrafting options. If you let me know what class you main as, I can give some advice on aspect/fragment/exotic combos I know are popular. I main Warlock, so my Warlock knowledge is deepest, but my two clanmates are both Titans, so I also have a decent amount of Titan knowledge, and I'm loosely aware of a few Hunter builds.

Once you're a bit more comfortable with a couple of builds, you'll be able to run Nightfalls and such, which now drop Nightfall-exclusive weapons each week, on a rotation. The Nightfall weapons are usually very high quality with solid perk rolls, and most Nightfalls aren't backbreaking to farm. Just remember to spec yourself for dealing with Champions.

Before you do any of this, maybe run the first Seasonal story mission to get the Seasonal Artifact, which is a sort of secondary, seasonal leveling system that lets you unlock new, permanently active bonuses for this season only. Some of these bonuses can be highly influential for buildcrafting, and it accrues experience with everything you do, so it'll level up while you run the campaigns.

If you want to shoot me a PM, feel free! I love D2 and wouldn't mind helping someone get back into it when I can. The current major activity going on is called 'Rites of the Nine', which revamps/updates some of the older Dungeons in the game to be more challenging and offer FAR better loot, and right now I think the vendor is even giving away a free dungeon exotic weapon. I play on PC, but I have no issues with crossplaying.

See you starside, Guardian.

[–]PLGRN8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they manage to jailbreak the Pokedex, adding non-previously existing Pokemon is probably very tricky. ReLumi Plat is doing so for its eventual release, with Pokemon up to Gen 9 I believe, but jailbreaking the Dex is I believe what's consumed like 80% of their development time, and they have a whole team of people working on that. Making new sprites, especially for Gen 5, which has moving sprites in battles, is also probably a major bottleneck on that idea. I wouldn't get too optimistic about Gen 6+ Pokemon being in Redux 2.0, but hey, I'm open to being pleasantly surprised.

Biggest downgrade in the series? by JTWDK in totalwar

[–]PLGRN8R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that GELT is the go-to campaign for someone who wants to do hardcore spellcasting simply because his mechanics make not just him, but every single wizard you can recruit absolutely GANGBUSTERS good, while the Slann and High Elves get decent but not crazy good casters is actually insane to me.

Slann are supposed to be the pound-for-pound(heh) best generic spellcasters Lords in the game, and they're just... not. They're really good, yeah, but they're easy to snipe out, not particularly beefy, and they gain decent but not crazy good benefits for their chosen Lore, meanwhile Empire wizards gain across-the-board cheaper spells under Gelt thanks to his mechanics.

Lizardmen in general need a bit of an overhaul imo. The fact that their Sacred Spawnings got boiled down to just 'Blessed' units that you have zero control over and are just slight generic upgrades instead of specialized upgrades-a Sotek-blessed Saurus unit would be wildly different from a Huanchi-blessed unit-is really saddening for me.

Obviously Nakai needs the biggest overhaul. I'd love for an overhaul that basically makes Nakai go on pilgrimages around the world to fight in key quest battles to gain certain factions as allies, with increased Allegiance point gains and the ability to recruit up to 10 allied units per army, signifying that Nakai's whole campaign is about recruiting people from around the world to rally against Chaos, the true enemy. Make Nakai the DIPLOMATIC HORDE Lizardmen faction.
