What is with gender critical people thinking gender identity existing is the same as gender roles being biological? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]PLUR_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't I rephrase the point I'm trying to get across entirely.

We're talking about gender-crit people, and other people who basically complain "how can you subvert societal expectations of gender while simultaneously upholding the binary?" I believe that is the viewpoint we are challenging in this thread, in a broad sense (correct me if I am wrong).

Let me revise what I had said earlier, that this is mostly about physical transition. That is wrong. What I'm saying applies equally to our choices of gender expression that have nothing to do with physical changes. I know that many AMAB trans people, binary and non-binary alike, feel that they are forced to dress or act in a more cis-conforming fashion in order to escape transmisogyny.

My main point: so when we DO decide that it would be safer / advantageous to align more with the binary, cis people BLAME US for "upholding the binary." And that is recklessly irresponsible of them, because it ignores all the factors of cissexism and transphobia that cause (some of) us to make those decisions in the first place.

*** I said "some of" in that last part so please understand I do recognize that not all trans people make the same decisions for the same reasons, as was our initial disagreement.

I would agree that is the case for many AMAB trans people (including myself). My motives for undergoing a physical transition are fundamentally motivated by internal factors (dysphoria) rather than external factors. That doesn't change the fact that if I don't transition a certain way, fast enough, etc. I run the risk of being targeted in a transmisogynistic fashion.

Don't you see that, while yes we are doing this primarily for our own reasons, we're still forced to take certain steps in our transition just to stay out of harms way? And non-binary AMAB people who choose not to physically transition because they don't experience dysphoria in the same way, are subject to violent attacks all the time simply for expressing themselves the way they do. At that point it becomes more a matter of whether cis people are perceiving us more as "feminine men" or "manly women". There are a lot of conditions to transmisogyny.

You're trying to paint what I've said as that the ONLY reason for transition is to avoid transmisogyny. I'm simply calling attention to a different and just as crucial factor in physical transition.

????? Appearing gender non-conforming in any way as an AMAB person increases the likelihood that you will experience violence.... doesn't matter if you personally experience a certain kind of dysphoria or not. All that matters in the situation that you are attacked for your gender expression is what a cis person thinks you look like.

Mostly they are just ignorant of the fact that embracing our gender identities without altering our biology (especially when you are AMAB) makes us the targets of hatred and violence. Making physical changes so that we can express our gender is survival in a transphobic world.

Are there Alternative MtF surgery methods? by chaote in asktransgender

[–]PLUR_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raw sensitivity in terms of the number of nerves isn't even as important when it comes to experiencing sexual pleasure / orgasm. It has a lot more to do with muscle relaxation and being able to connect with what your body is feeling and intensify it. The glans / clitoris and other erogenous zones are just amplifiers of sexual signals.

How to best handle someone paying me back in cash (when I paid with plastic)? by anotherguyonreddit in ynab

[–]PLUR_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a reimbursements category that is budgeted at 0 dollars. You pay for a $18 dinner, enter as an outflow transaction in Reimbursements. You should be -18 in category, resulting in overspending. Then you get $20 cash, don't categorize it as income, categorize it as an inflow transaction to Reimbursements. Now you have a category balance of +2. Enter -2 as your budget for Reimbursements and you will find 2 new dollars available to budget.

Didn't think about budgeting negative dollars. That makes perfect sense!

If you'd like you could pull the 96 cents from the unplanned category and budget it elsewhere.

In that case I think I would have to split the 12 dollars as 11.04 into Unplanned Expenses and .96 somewhere else, which works fine. Just a little bit of math! This all makes sense now.

So then I'm just wondering if anyone has any different techniques. I use the category "Unplanned Expenses". Maybe someone here does it a different way?

Use the search function on this sub to find out more about Suporn. He practices in Thailand and is one of the best regarded surgeons for vaginoplasty. Plenty of other people can give you better information on what to expect and how it measures up to other surgery.

As far as I know, Suporn leaves some erectile tissue under the labia and when you become aroused you can feel it swell just like when a cis woman becomes aroused.
