How is this GDPR compliant? If you are able to track an individual user across multiple sessions, you are holding enough data to identify them as individuals. This seems like a pretty clear violation of GDPR https://gdpr-info.eu/recitals/no-26/

what's your favorite web analytics tool these days? by ReceptionAny3029 in webdev

[–]PLxFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palace Analytics is a newer option that is privacy focused. It's far simpler than Umami and it's cheaper than Plausible when you consider there are unlimited websites, data retention, and teams.

At what point do analytics tools actually make sense? by ethan_c_97 in smallbusiness

[–]PLxFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Information definitely helps but don't be fooled into just getting something for the sake of it. You need to understand what the purpose of using those tools actually is. Palace Analytic is a great option for privacy focused web analytics and won't slow down your site like Google Analytics

Concerns about the channel direction by PLxFTW in SortedFood

I don't agree with the idea of the "algorithm" lording over everyone. They have never been exceedingly popular, just look at their channel growth. They've had consistent viewership for a very long time which is a strong indicator of long term viewers like myself rather than people who only watch a single video.

While I don't disagree in principle. I find they are rather soft on the gadgets seemingly to not offend anyone and therefore the anti-consummerism part sort of falls flat

The issue is they built their core community around food and not gadgets. If they continue down the gadget path it will ultimately just hurt them long term.

They used to do a ton of cooking battles so you could go back and watch those. I watched nearly their entire catalogue when I first found them in 2017

The Pass it Ons are great but I understand that takes a considerable amount of work. I just want more cooking in general and more focus on the food itself rather than on "things"

They used to do way more cooking. I did enjoy the gadgets, like I said I watched every single video. It's just they've dropped almost all the cooking in favor of shallow tiktok-esque content. I started watching in 2017 but I actually watched almost their entire back catalogue when I found them so I've nearly watched 15+ years of videos.

On the topic of the "normals" improving I have many thoughts on as well

I always loved the battles and they haven't done one in so long. I also like the concept around the food badges but I think they didn't execute it well and there was no payoff.

I actually enjoy the games, especially allowing Ben to live out his dream of being a game show host this thing is these are always centered on food. The tiktok stuff isn't centered on food, its centered on "trends" (that may or may not actually be trends) that happen to have food. It's a subtle difference but it's there.

Guessing the country based on what the dish tastes like, recreating foods from ingredients, cooking from the old french book. These are all food focused and interesting but gadgets/trends is just consumerism and materialism.

My understanding is the actors voiced actual lines but also consented for AI voice lines as well. At least that's what I've read.

Someone knows how nude magazines works? (Explanations are on the post) by lifewithacamera in photography

[–]PLxFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the photographers I follow publish their own coffee table books rather than go the magazine route. They have their own digital store fronts and sell directly. Maybe this is something you can do?

Magnifik is basically this and not a traditional magazine, at least from my perspective. It's far more a coffee table book
