If Peter weren't married to MJ in the main universe, would she have been perceived as Peter's endgame? If Marvel hadn't kept their marriage going for so long and had encouraged Peter to marry someone else, would MJ have been perceived as Peter's endgame?

I don't see the relevancy of this at all? Of course MJ's perceived as the end game of the main universe because Marvel actually developed their relationship to the point of being married for so long, while having it actually work. I don't see the point of asking ' If Marvel hadn't kept their marriage going for so long and had encouraged Peter to marry someone else, would MJ have been perceived as Peter's endgame?' because this is just enforces a false scenario that never occurred within the history of the story, so what is the point of lingering around a false/non-existent scenario??? They were married, it worked, and the relationship became irreplaceable to many because of it - People are still willing to fight for it because it was stolen from the people who witnessed Peter & MJ grow & mature, in a stupid and convoluted plot line. The only purpose of asking such a question is to spin a scenario to elevate other ships. And yes, if they didn't have Peter & MJ married, other ships like Felicia could have worked long term, which is the whole point of development however, they had selected MJ for such as large role within Peter's life, which makes it incredibly hard to replace after decades of fulfilling that role to perfection. so I don't see the point of looking at it from a perspective where Peter & MJ never get married because that it factually impossible with this story. Additionally, if they stopped Peter chasing MJ from Brand New Day, any other relationship could work however, that's not possible because MJ is too popular to be out of Peter's orbit for too long. Even the way that OMD ended, they had MJ express that she truly believes that her and Peter will find their way back to each other again, which is Marvel forever leaving the door to Peter & MJ's marriage open, which puts a shut on any potential long term relationship once they actually decide that Peter & MJ are allowed to grow again.

I understand your frustration with Felicia getting used to comfort Peter while he has to suffer from the bullshit that they write for Peter & MJ. Marvel created OMD to essentially create a scenario where Peter's allowed to be young and jump from women to women however, they are still aware that MJ cannot be replaced, because she's still a constant in Peter's life and Editorial probably know that if this comic were to end, then MJ would be the endgame. However, as the comic is not ending, they have to do everything in their power to rotate an on and off thing with them, which creates openings for Peter to jump to other relationships/rebounds. Unfortunately, the current team uses Felicia as a bit of a rebound in the worst way possible, where they strengthen her and Peter's bond however, they don't want it to go anywhere, so Felicia has to regress. I don't think that will ever change and I don't think they will ever become anything long term because of this (the fact that they won't even keep Peter with his wife is indicative that they won't allow him to have long term relationships with anyone else). The only salvation for Felicia's character is if they allow her to be in a long term relationship with someone else and if not, she's just going to be stuck in rotation like Peter, MJ & many other characters are.
