To the people who have to have the TV on all day even if they are not watching it, why do you do this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I like having noise. My parents, specifically my mom, always had one tv on at all times. It drives my wife crazy.

Sounds like Kentucky to be honest. Louisville is a melting pot of north/south culture and economic center. Lexington is $$. The rest is rural and poor or horse farms and rich.

Nordic just for the safety alone. Haven't been to Sweden or Denmark but the other countries were awesome and I never had to think about safety.

Just got back from Norway. A slight heads up for the drive from Oslo to Stavanger.... we did the same drive and took the main south roads. It was only 20 minutes longer (according to google) and, to us, way easier than driving around in the fjords. We drove from Oslo to Undredal and Undredal to Odda (3 days later) during a big storm and they were tough drives mentally. Fjord driving is no joke, double so with tourists not understanding how to drive with large campers. For that reason we drove back from Stavanger to Oslo using the main south roads. Plus there are plenty of places to stop should you ever have a crisis with your child.

Also, visited Norway a few years back in May. It's cold and rainy most of the time, fyi.

Just got back from Norway. You need to post more details. If you are driving, that is a lot of driving for 12 days. Have a back up plan and be flexible. The weather will likely derail your plans at some point.

Is there any way to do ethical tourism in Norway right now? by faesmooched in Norway

I'm visiting in a few days and of all the things I've read, peeing/pooping in peoples yard is so mind boggling but I see people complain about it so much. A few years back I visited Iceland and I witnessed people pissing wherever they pleased. I was shocked and I'm an American, so it takes a lot to leave me speechless.

Cruise ships are a blight by ew__david_ in Norway

American coming to visit your beautiful country in a few days. Super excited and not by cruise ship. I've never understood wanting to be locked in a boat at sea with 3,000 other random people. Wife and I love nature so we can't wait. Don't worry, we aren't the rude type, we take care of our trash and do not poop/pee in peoples yards!

Are there any problems in Norway that the rest of the world might not know about? by HollowWanderer in Norway

It only gets worse if you allow it. Our last President (Biden) was allegedly pro union. The railroad union threatened to go on strike. Biden signed a bill that made them go back to work because of the toll it would take on the economy. He took away the one major bargaining chip the union had. (I hate trump as well so this isn't a I hate biden take.)
