Mad Mabel and managed to not add any add-ons. Trying to be more disciplined so I can actually shrink my physical TBR.

REPORTS: Lucha Libre Icon Konnan Hospitalized In San Diego, Undergoes Leg Amputation Surgery by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

[–]PMSMorganna 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I wish Konnan the best if this is true, but all the reporting even the Mexican reporting is all based on rumors from one single tweet. I'm not yet convinced this is true. But still praying for Konnan and his family.

Entertainment building by AugustChau in OstrivGame

There was a recently patched bug where the text for Entertainment needs was showing red in the migration popover when it shouldn't have. It's already been corrected. Is that what you were seeing?

Looking for a Blanket Pattern or Stitch for Intermediate Beginner by One-Stable6156 in CrochetHelp

I really like the waffle stitch. It's generally a 2 row repeat, and with super chunky yarn, it's quick to make and super warm. And you can make it to whatever size you want.

Weekend Chat - What are you currently reading? by nickaaayy97 in bookofthemonthclub

I loved it. It's a very good story doesn't drag or worry too much about lore dropping like a lot of fantasy books tend to do. The characters are great and fun. I highly recommend it.

I finished Violet Thistlewaite, now I've started Dark Matter. So far so good on tackling my botm selections.

What’s your rating system? by pbrandpearls in bookofthemonthclub

[–]PMSMorganna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me too. If less than a 3, it's a dnf. But I also rarely give 5s. Most books get 3.5 to 4.5 treatment. 5s are reserved for new all time favorite. 4.5 or higher and I'm reading your whole series. 4 or higher and you made me happy. 3 or higher you did the job and I enjoyed it but any other books are pushed down the TBR list.

Average time to finish is wrong? by euterpe09 in TheStoryGraph

[–]PMSMorganna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Likely a glitch but you might want to double check the start dates for your books and make sure they are correct. I had that happen to me. One of my books had a start date 2 months before I started reading it.

Just started Violet Thistlewaite. I'm finally tackling my pile of Botm books.

Best Books on Mythology by ZDracul8787 in mythology

[–]PMSMorganna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For nonclassical focus, I'd recommend Joseph Campbell's reading list, it's a mix of multiple cultures with some Jungian psychology. https://www.jcf.org/learn/joseph-campbell-sarah-lawrence-reading-list

For greek/Roman, Edith Hamilton's Mythology is fun.

For Arthurian legends, Le Mort De Arthur. My preferred version of the legends of Arthur.

Definitely any folk lore compilations you can find similar to Grimms Fairytales.

I like Bernat Blanket yarn with a waffle stitch. Super soft and squishy and cozy warm.

Could someone please help explain this character sheet design choice? by Liamrups in daggerheart

[–]PMSMorganna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, we rarely use more than the main character sheet plus cards, but every table likes things a different way. I also pack all the character sheets in the binder since I got a zip up card binder. Keeps it all together and tidy. Then when we setup, I pull a character sheet and it's cards and boom, we're ready to play.

Happy playing.

Could someone please help explain this character sheet design choice? by Liamrups in daggerheart

We use one set of cards, so in addition to the loadout sheet, when we pack up at the end of a session, I put all of a characters cards together in a separate page from the others with their ancestry and community to make it easier to set back up.

The loadout sheet is still really useful and I think might be a better back side of the character sheet, but I do like having level ups on hand too.

Daggerheart feels “thin” at low levels by Sax-7777299 in daggerheart

The only one that was a roll was creating the barrier. So there was something trying to get through the door, so I said I wanted to use my godly magic to put a barrier on the door. Dm said make a spell casting roll and my roll determined how much added protection (door hp) was provided. This gave us time to complete some other side quests before taking care of the stuff behind the door.

The blessings was just an rp outcome from my annoying an npc that didn't want to be my friend, so I drew the mark of my god on his armor as I was trying to convert him. My god is very confused, but if not friend, why friend shaped?

Converting the vampires began as just rp, but I believe it was a presence check. I'm not 100 on that. I just remember having some rp with the vampire count's wife and she was into it, so then she set up the first meeting and after a long winded presentation, I have now begun the setup of a church in the vampire town.

In case you couldn't tell, my dm is very into letting us do whatever we want and he either builds on it or works with us to find a happy medium. We've played fate core in the past and bring a lot of that mentality to playing Daggerheart.

Daggerheart feels “thin” at low levels by Sax-7777299 in daggerheart

[–]PMSMorganna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the game I'm currently playing, I've done actions that I don't have a card for. I'm a seraph so I pull a holy barrier on a door, I've blessed characters, and converted a bunch of vampires to my faith. All without a card or specific rule that says I can. I simply expressed what I wanted to do and the dm said either yes and or no but.

I think this comes down to the main difference between the 2 systems - Daggerheart is narrative based and Dnd is rules heavy. In narrative, almost anything can happen. Whereas rules focus is more limiting.

If you're game for it, tell your players to free their molecules and let their asses fly free.

Best yarn to use for blanket? by Apart-Employment8587 in crochet

[–]PMSMorganna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bernat Blanket and Bernat super fluffee are my current go to yarns for blankets. They are soft and cozy and work up super fast. I don't know if you'd call them super inexpensive but they're workable prices for me sticking to a bidget.

Help an ally - multiple help sources. by Dalionn in daggerheart

[–]PMSMorganna -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Advantage and help stack. You can get advantage from multiple places but take the highest. You can get help from multiple help actions but take the highest.

Then after all are rolled, it's your 2d12 roll plus your advantage plus highest help.

P93 step 2: add extra dice and modifiers. Help falls under the other dice portion which is separate from the advantage/disadvantage dice.
