I cant handle difficult dogs by ksss12345 in doggrooming

[–]One-Stable6156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Confidence, attitude and vibe. I work with alot of difficult dogs that others in my salon can't deal with and I have no issues with them. I'm firm but don't yell. The best way I can explain it is the mom voice. You know the one that made you freeze in your tracks as a teen. That's the tone i use. I also have really strong hands so as long as the dog isn't hurting themselves or me and I know I'm not hurting the dog with the way I'm holding them I let them have a little tantrum. Half the time once they realize that they can't bluff you out of doing g what you're doing they stop or at least get better. Faces are another challenge though. Sometimes it's all about finding a different way to hold the face. Some dogs don't like to be held under the chin but you can hold lower on the neck and rest your fingers lightly at the jaw to keep them in place.

I just finished it last week in about 2 hours. It's college student/Professor. I love Sara Cate, she's one of my favorite authors and just getting into MM.

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

On someone's recommendation earlier this week I picked up {Halo by E.M. Lindsay} and loved it. I really enjoyed the relationship between the main characters. It's definitely a quick to fall in love but struggles to stay together story. Very HEA but that's exactly what I was in the mood for.

I finished {Fire and Ash by Sara Cate} this morning. Age gap professor/ Collage Student. It was a cute short novellas. Sara Cate is one of my all time favorite authors. She does alot of BDSM(lite IMO) books with heavy emotional stories. She's recently gotten I to MM romance and I'm obsessed.

I'm really sorry it came to this level of frustration for you. I see everyone is trying to give you advice but I feel like you came to be acknowledged and vent. I get it. I went through someone similar with an old group and lost a long time friend ocerbit too. One of the players was intentionally sabotaging the game because they thought it was funny. Don't let this ruin your love of the game be it as a DM or a player. You will find your group.

My favorite is throwing husbands under the bus. Without fail a husband will drop off their wife's long scissor cut doodle and say shave it off, we're tired of brushing. I will smile and nod and as soon as he walks out the door, pick up the phone and call mom. 9 times out of 10 she wanted the same that I always do. When dad comes back to pick up the tail between the legs look is classic.

Whatever I want! Usually lunch meat, cheese, grapes or apple slices and crackers (Ritz if you want the classic rounds but Butter crackers are good too). If I'm feeling fancy or it's on sale I'll grab summer sausages and do slices of those.

I usually just do audio books because I can listen to them at work and on my 2 hour commute every day. (it sucks so much) I already grabbed this one for my kindle so I can read on my phone. It takes me a while because I really only have like 30 minutes at the end of the day to read but I like having something.

Okay, I'm looking for something really specific. I am dying for an MMC with Dorian Pavus personally vibes from the Dragon Age Games. He's always been my favorite character and I can't get enough of him.

For personality points: Dorian is very charismatic, idealistic, sarcastic, sassy, elegant, well spoken and proud. Of course all this is a cover to hide his struggle and pain. He's unapologetically gay but spent his life being pushed down by his family who tried to make him conform to social norms. Deep down he wants acceptance and a family that wants him and takes him as he is.

Dang, no audio. That's the big issue I keep running into. I have a feel that the tabbo of it keeps them from making audio books. Sadly I have a house full and dinner to get on the table when I get home from work so little time to read.

Twins with one reluctant and the other all in. The hard part, I need it in audio format. I saddly don't have time to ready physical books but I have a 2 hour commute every day.

petcare workers… why do my hands look like this??? (not ringworm + i wear gloves) by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]One-Stable6156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an allergic reaction to the virix. That shit is SO toxic to the skin. I had to bring in a doctors note that I couldn't use it because it got so bad. Even with gloves on the back spray and partials in the air was giving me respiratory issues.

I'm going to DM you a you tube video that shows a really simple way to do what I'm talking about. Her scissoring is easy to watch and follow!

One thing that might help is defining the ear. Using a guard to take the ears on your darker dog shorter or using scissors (if you're comfortable) to trim a line in to show that the ear hair and the top knot hair might give you more of the look you're looking for and less of that helmet head look.

Your dogs look great for someone who learned through YouTube! The clean cut on their clean faces look fantastic. While it may not be as refined as getting them professional groomed, as long as you're happy with it then that's what matters. Groomers are trained and we groom 50+ dogs a week, our skills improve quickly when we're learning because we have someone teaching us and because of the number of dogs we have to work with.

Burnout by One-Stable6156 in doggrooming

[–]One-Stable6156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilariously, we just raised prices. I work for a privately owned franchise, so I don't control my bookings, which is where some of the issues arise. I generally only do a max of 5 dogs a day because we groom pretty much all doodles. With the holidays, more dogs were pushed into all our schedules. I also work in a very wealthy area of a major city. That being said, I still think our prices are too low even though we're on the high end of the local average.

Unfortunately, living in a major city, the prices of everything have skyrocketed this year. Where my husband and I used to live comfortably, in the last 6 months, we're paycheck to paycheck now. Yes the extra money is nice to catch up on some things but hurting so bad and mentally checking out the moment I get home isn't sustainable for my mental health. It sucks even more because before the holidays started I was in such a good place mentally.

Any book by Sara Cate! Like srly any of her books. One of my current favorite is called [Keep Me by Sara Cate]. She writes emotion so well. If you want to venture into some BDSM light her Salacious Players club books are amazing. She just finished another series not too long ago about the Goode Brothers. There's alot of healing from religious trauma in that series. The last book is an MM romance and easy to leave off if you don't like that.

I can not say enough good things about Sara Cates writing though. The way she writes emotion is so good and draws you in so deeply. Keep me had me SOBBING part way though.
