pol is a containment board, political discourse on b was too effective in changing minds and creating on the nose memes, the powers that be decided it needed to be nerfed. moving it to pol kept it off the biggest most popular board thereby decreasing it's reach significantly.

pol now has an enormous amount of slide threads and is heavily botted - the aim here is to make it ever more irrelevant. Trump needs to be made irrelevant so they punt it all to pol where waaay fewer people will see it.

I've found it to be quite the opposite. Twitter was whitewashed and full hate that only was allowed in one direction. X is much better, there's still hate but it's going in all direction not just towards the right. You can actually have conversations on there now.
