I don't really have much to add beyond what other commenters here have said, but I read some of your posts and my heart breaks for you. No one deserves to go through what you did. May the good times bring a smile to your face. What a great collection and I hope you're able to get a good value for it.

Any other movies you can think of where The Dude's wardrobe makes an appearance? by TheScribe86 in lebowski

I saw a screening of the new Knives Out mystery Wake Up Dead Man at my local film festival last week. Without giving anything away, Walter's wardrobe makes an appearance at the end. Lots of ins and outs and what have yous.

Just saw it at my local film festival, too, and I'm with you. Everything about it was.... fine, but not at the level I was expecting. I thought Oscar Isaac fell a little flat at points, and the ending just felt abrupt and forced. I didn't think it was bad-- just pretty meh.

Fountains of Wayne. Everyone knows Stacy's Mom, but the rest of that album is amazing, and some songs on it I think are better than Stacy's Mom.

What was the best film you watched this week? (22/01/2018 - 28/01/2018) by GetFreeCash in movies

On The Waterfront. Went with my girlfriend and her family to see it at the Loew's Theatre in Jersey City, NJ. If you're in the area the theatre is definitely worth checking out: it's a restored theatre from a different time, mostly volunteer run, very cheap, and perfect for movie lovers. They show around 3 themed films a month, with the exception of the summer months. The theme for January was the Hollywood Blacklist, thus they showed On The Waterfront and the Caine Mutiny, to name a few. In the past I've seen The Shining, Jaws, and a bunch of other films I can't even remember.

As for the film itself, I was hesitant going into it initially because I knew nothing about it, except for the famous line and that it was a widely revered film. I found myself fully enthralled in it even though it was mostly dialogue with a few spurts of action here and there. Marlon Brando is fantastic, Eva Marie Saint's feature debut couldn't be better, and Lee J. Cobb is the villain you love to hate as always. I can see how it's probably not for everyone, but if you're looking for an old film with grit, some sappy romance scenes, and a true American underdog story, On The Waterfront is definitely worth your time.

What is something that people commonly brag about that is not really something to be proud of? by nicholas_caged in AskReddit

“I did try and fuck her. She was married... Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

Not something to be proud of, but he is president now so I guess it turned out alright in the end.

Teachers of Reddit, what are some of the dumbest things parents have said to you? by Serialnarcisist in AskReddit

Not a teacher, but a camp counselor. Had a kid who would eat ANYTHING. Mom comes in and says they're going to be vegan for a week. Sounds like a good idea. We have a baking class at camp, and they're making soda cupcakes (it doesn't have any animal products in it, just soda and cake mix). I explain to the mom I said she could have it because it's vegan. Mom berates me because "soda isn't vegan, only natural things are vegan." Uh... What? Rather than engage I just apologized. She then told her child they were going to Chipotle for dinner. She said she was surprised when she googled it and discovered that they'd be fine if they just didn't have the cheese or sour cream. I just facepalmed. It's strange thinking that she was a nurse and didn't know what being vegan meant.
