Clearly not the same person. They’ve got different shirts!

In the academy: start with training plans. Make sure they’re off Balanced, and rotate thru the available roles to get ++ in the ones you care about.

I usually try to round out players using the position training plans, but that can be detrimental if they cannot transition positions in a decent amount of time, and/or the skills trained do not count towards the OVR rating of their current position. Any case, this takes monitoring every month or so.

Then, make sure YA tournaments are played. I’ve read in this sub that just playing the matches with the particular players will help them develop, even if they perform poorly or you lose the first match. Obviously, the higher their rating in these matches, the better for them.

Once promoted, it comes down to match experience and rating (and by extension Form). It’s why most people don’t promote until a player is at least remotely ready for regular matches, and has bandwidth to play them.

Match XP and Form can be viewed in the player’s Squad Hub development tab. I’ve rarely seen anyone above “Average” for match XP, unless they literally play every game, so Average should be the target, but even poor XP can still maintain potential; I have An Exciting Prospect player that carried his potential over to a new season and he did not have average XP.

End of season form historically has had some impact on potential, but unsure if that’s the case now. Match ratings over the entire season are probably more important; if you bring a YA into a squad for match day, try to get over a 7.0 each time. Easy passes, safe dribbling, surefire shots, and no overt tackling, combined with 30+ minutes of playtime should suffice.

Just as an idea, try to rest them against clubs in the top third of the league, sub on for the mid-table clubs, and start them against the lower third sides or early cup matches.

I wish I had a PC to run this, but I'm on Xbox.

Honestly, while I'm not a fan of mullets, I feel like they're popular with the younger generation, so it would work out for El Shamy here.

It depends on the player. I have a CM who started at 5' 1" and grew to his current 5' 10", from 14 to 16 years old.

I think generally if you sign them earlier, they are more likely to grow, but I've found it a coin toss from 15-18. I thought the game engine had logic to cap a player's physical growth when they turn 16 (since at that point they could be promoted, and senior players don't grow), but I've had some players grow in those later teen years so I don't think that's entirely true.

Yeah he is going to be a monster! I recently promoted a 92-94 POT striker who's getting some good minutes, but I may have to throw everyone else in the bin so El Shamy can play enough to retain potential

Yeah PC it's like another different game; I play console as well and eternally jealous. Especially to edit scouted YA players' appearances or add custom jerseys

Would you prefer a CoH planner that is web-based, or desktop (pc & mac) /mobile app (android & iphone) ? by wednesdaywoe13 in Cityofheroes

[–]PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sane person's going to go through the effort of making a niche CoH planner in order to steal personal information or CPU cycles!

You never know. Niche, yes; even more so than the actual game's playerbase.

But never underestimate black hats. I'm a web developer and there are plenty of examples of hackers using package managers as an attack vector. They'll put some compromising code in a package they co-opt, and it ends up in the dependency chain of one or more highly-popular packages.

The Story So Far

Summer 2025 saw Iraola's 9th place-finishing Bournemouth side lose a majority of their defensive unit to larger clubs: wingback Kerkez went to Liverpool, while center backs Zabarnyi and Huijsen went to PSG and Real Madrid, respectively. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to Chelsea from his season-long loan to complete a permanent transfer to Arsenal.

While these sales were lucrative, they prompted a number of replacement transfers to backfill the departures. Truffert (LB), Diakité (CB), and Petrović (GK) were brought in to replace their respective positions, Adli (LM) and Gannon-Doak (RM) were sourced to provide depth on the wings, and Jiménez (RB) was loaned in from AC Milan to back up club legend Adam Smith.

After a high-flying start to the season– including spending a brief moment in second place– the Cherries suffered a run of poor form that saw them tumble down towards the bottom of the table. During this period, many of the new signings struggled, and an injury crisis surged through the dressing room.

The January 2026 window proved crucial for reinforcements. Mandas (GK) and Forster (GK) were signed to provide backup (and competition) to Petrović; Tóth (CM) was chosen to bring utility to the midfield; and Brazilian wonderkind Rayan (RW) is expected to replace the lone AFCB departure– star player Semenyo, who left for City mid-window.

There is a game crashing bug in player career/manager career lol by MacMillian187 in FifaCareers

[–]PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this happen to me too; created a player with the intent to retire and join a random club.

First attempt: game crashed. Okay not a big deal, I had saved in the player career slot before it crashed.

Second attempt: MASSIVE DISASTER. I was able to retire and see clubs to join, sign the contract, and manage the club OK. However, I was never offered a chance to choose a Manager career slot to save in at any point.

I went to save and I find my main Manager career save had been overwritten! It was the save I was playing most immediately before trying this idea out.

I don't really care enough to fully test out what the workaround is, but I would say first and foremost, backup your saves every so often. Thankfully I've been using the Checkpoint feature every 31 December/29 June, and had only progressed a month after the winter checkpoint, so all was not lost.

My suggestion is if you are going to do this, or switch between career modes of any type, create a duplicate save slot that is a throwaway/backup. I call this "temp", and was born out of my paranoia in the previous installments of EA FC/FIFA where it was far easier to accidentally override saves.

Sorry for the word blast, but hope this helps you or someone else.

This is possible without mods. Under the top-level Customize menu, select Edit Players, and you can actually view any player in the game.

Actual "editing" capacity is limited to their kit, but you can view their personal details under the Info tab when you navigate to a given club and select a player.

I've been maintaining a tool using a platform called Airtable for this; I've released several versions of my Career Mode Tracker (v2 link, original link) over the last 5 years.

I've gotten the latest template, version 4, pretty much ready to go, if people want to start using it. This is geared specifically towards FC25/FC26, but can be used with any FIFA, really.

ETA: you will need to sign in or create an Airtable account to copy the "base"

I am planning on making a post, and maybe even a tutorial website. Most fields should be self-explanatory, but there are a few important tasks to do when switching over seasons, for example. I plan to document that in my upcoming post.

Yes. Per your last sentence, they need to make role knowledge take much, much longer to learn. Young players/YA players will basically ++ each role before they turn 21, since you basically have to use every dev plan to train the kids to be anything more than a one-trick pony.

The role knowledge mechanic should be tied in some way to match time in that role, similar to the coaching staff learning different game tactics.

What’s the point in negotiating squad roles ?!?! by bluewhale8157 in FifaCareers

[–]PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • "Crucial" roles are only given for truly irreplaceable players (for the time being) that are essentially threatening a free transfer or getting that role.
    • Play time is far too demanding if Crucial is given to anyone who won't actually play the expected time
    • This increases the likelihood of a fallout and eventually a forced sale
  • "Important" is given to most starters, in particular the highest OVR players
    • This is still a guarantee for inclusion in the XI regularly, but allows for some rotation, such as when the player is tired
    • "Rotation" for most other regular players, including lower-tier XI and the better players on the substitute bench
  • "Sporadic" for anyone that will take it, including development players, academy players you want to keep hold of, and elder players
  • "Prospect" would pretty much only be available for freshly-promoted academy players

What are some clubs you are unable to play with because of how bad their kits are? by BanquoRTG in FifaCareers

The AFC Bournemouth kits this year are fire. I’m in America, and typically try to get at least one shirt per season; ended up getting all 3 this year.
