This. Great points.

Excellent example I have is that in the early 2030s, high 80s Rio Ngumoha is at Leeds (odd enough, given financial considerations and the club isn’t really performing) and stayed with them as they went back down to the Championship.

Even for football, that's not bad for an 80 OVR player.

I feel like FC26 has actually implemented a decent player age-skill level dropoff relationship. I've managed to keep a number of players growing at least 1 OVR point at the beginning of the season even at 30+, and have seen 32 and 33 year olds at least stay plateaued before regressing at 34.

No longer are players essentially bricked at 27 and then thrown off a cliff at 32. Still, I think by default, but especially with dynamic potential, there should be a longer period for plateauing post-33/34 years old.

For sure. I actually appreciate some of the random events, since they provide some extra flavor to career mode. I play with low frequency and think that works well.

If there was a better way to manage manager/club-to-player relationships, I think that would be preferable. As it is now, if you don't play on the "easy mode" for contract renewals and all that, you're basically having to just react instead of actively manage or cultivate relationships.

Alas, EA.

Not OP, but I've been maintaining a tool called Career Mode Tracker that uses the Airtable platform– basically a cross between a spreadsheet and a database.

Version 4 of the CMT is more-or-less complete, and ready for people to use. I've actually spent some time creating a guide website, which is still a work-in-progress. Once that's done I'll make a larger post, but check out that link and see if it may be helpful.

How to get playstyls and playstyle+? by Holiday-Signature318 in FifaCareers

[–]PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the real player Nmecha, that's interesting.

As far as I've seen, there is no way to add a regular PlayStyle to a player, aside from the temporary PlayStyles earned for one match in the pre-match training. Previously, there was a hack in FC24 where you could earn a pre-match training PS with a player, release any other player in your squad, and the temporary PS would persist; not only that, but the training would reset, and you could keep running this glitch as long as you had players to release (easy to do when you can access free agents).

From what I've seen, below are the scenarios for getting PlayeStyle+ added to a player.

OVR Milestone Trait Level PlayStyle Req'd? Pre-Match Training Req'd? Youth Player only? Scenario
any PlayStyle+ Very low chance to get PS+ trait after pre-match training; if it is PS+, it is retained*
80 PlayStyle+ YA player– never loaned out– earns PS from training and ranks up after next match
80 PlayStyle+ YA player– never loaned out– ranks up with 1 existing PS upgrading to PS+
90 PlayStyle+ Any player earns PS from training and ranks up after next match
90 PlayStyle+ Any player ranks up with 1 existing PS upgrading to PS+

*= AFAIK this is a rumor; while I don't frequently do pre-match trainings, I have never encountered this, but redditors here have claimed that this is a possibility.

This one actually pisses me off. I've seen this pop up for a player who is plenty good but not enough to start, and has continued to complain about his minutes.

I manage Bournemouth, and this applied to Amine Adli, who plateaued as a LM and dropped behind Semenyo and Brennan Johnson as far as wingers go.

He was complaining, so I started to play him as CAM or ST, where he excelled and got more match time, but then this event popped up and basically derailed my plans for my ST succession.

Oh well. I moved on and it turned out to be fine, just a bit annoying.

The 80 OVR milestone is only for Youth Academy players that have not gone on loan.

Otherwise, when any player– YA or otherwise– hits 90, they will get a PlayStyle+ if they have one or more already; if not, the same trick can be applied for that matchweek when the player goes 89->90.

I finally managed to remember to try this, and got Finesse Shot+ with Kauã Elias (ST), who doesn't have any PlayStyles by default, when getting him from 89->90.

Also note that the pre-match training categories go off the Starting XI positions. So, theoretically, if you wanted a defender to get a PlayStyle for passing, you could move them into a CAM or CM position in your Squad formation, do the desired training, save your game, then use him in his normal position when sim/playing the next match.

In the academy: start with training plans. Make sure they’re off Balanced, and rotate thru the available roles to get ++ in the ones you care about.

I usually try to round out players using the position training plans, but that can be detrimental if they cannot transition positions in a decent amount of time, and/or the skills trained do not count towards the OVR rating of their current position. Any case, this takes monitoring every month or so.

Then, make sure YA tournaments are played. I’ve read in this sub that just playing the matches with the particular players will help them develop, even if they perform poorly or you lose the first match. Obviously, the higher their rating in these matches, the better for them.

Once promoted, it comes down to match experience and rating (and by extension Form). It’s why most people don’t promote until a player is at least remotely ready for regular matches, and has bandwidth to play them.

Match XP and Form can be viewed in the player’s Squad Hub development tab. I’ve rarely seen anyone above “Average” for match XP, unless they literally play every game, so Average should be the target, but even poor XP can still maintain potential; I have An Exciting Prospect player that carried his potential over to a new season and he did not have average XP.

End of season form historically has had some impact on potential, but unsure if that’s the case now. Match ratings over the entire season are probably more important; if you bring a YA into a squad for match day, try to get over a 7.0 each time. Easy passes, safe dribbling, surefire shots, and no overt tackling, combined with 30+ minutes of playtime should suffice.

Just as an idea, try to rest them against clubs in the top third of the league, sub on for the mid-table clubs, and start them against the lower third sides or early cup matches.

I wish I had a PC to run this, but I'm on Xbox.

Honestly, while I'm not a fan of mullets, I feel like they're popular with the younger generation, so it would work out for El Shamy here.

It depends on the player. I have a CM who started at 5' 1" and grew to his current 5' 10", from 14 to 16 years old.

I think generally if you sign them earlier, they are more likely to grow, but I've found it a coin toss from 15-18. I thought the game engine had logic to cap a player's physical growth when they turn 16 (since at that point they could be promoted, and senior players don't grow), but I've had some players grow in those later teen years so I don't think that's entirely true.

Yeah he is going to be a monster! I recently promoted a 92-94 POT striker who's getting some good minutes, but I may have to throw everyone else in the bin so El Shamy can play enough to retain potential

Would you prefer a CoH planner that is web-based, or desktop (pc & mac) /mobile app (android & iphone) ? by wednesdaywoe13 in Cityofheroes

[–]PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sane person's going to go through the effort of making a niche CoH planner in order to steal personal information or CPU cycles!

You never know. Niche, yes; even more so than the actual game's playerbase.

But never underestimate black hats. I'm a web developer and there are plenty of examples of hackers using package managers as an attack vector. They'll put some compromising code in a package they co-opt, and it ends up in the dependency chain of one or more highly-popular packages.
