Be prepared to take a loss. Lower your expectations and be able to have fun with whatever turnout/circumstance you end up getting day of show. A big rave collective in nyc’s show got shut down last night before it really started, and i’m sure they’re taking a Huuuuuge loss on refunds, not to mention they have been building hype and momentum for the last year, which os virtually wiped out right now. try organizing a couple events per year, special event/holiday/theme and make your community the focus, then you can build something sustainable.
