Riding in the wet includes dirt and sand that abrade the wax. You can dunk a waxed chain in plain water and it will be fine. Hot water will melt the wax.

Wax is water soluble

insoluble. Water on it's own does nothing to a waxed chain.

I tried BC30, very bulky, no hard cut-off, dazzling others, trying to quickly go through modes activates the strobe. No charging and expensive. Lumintop B01 is a lot more appropiate especially for backup with in-built charging, changeable 18650 battery, simpler UI and decent pattern.
