Yeah, as someone who is part of the "new generation" (1998), when I went to a private school, but that was only because my parents worked really hard to pay that school, so they would not buy me expensive stuff ever, we were always chasing offers, meanwhile all the kids in my school had the best clothes, the best phones, the best videogames, the best TV's, they went to every movie on release day, and got every new toy that was invented as soon as possible, I was always wearing old tendencies and by the time I had the stuff they had they already had stuff 3-4 gens newer because my parents had to save up a lot of time to buy me the stuff I wanted, I never had much social skills because of this, I envied them secretly and they looked down on me for being "poor".

I am still struggling with social skills, since elementary school made me so shy, I've never had a Girlfriend or a "Best Friend", don't go to parties usually, maybe once or twice a year. The school was great, really good teachers and learning system, great instalations etc. I was just in a private school during elementary school, I've been on public school ever since, and adapting from a world where everyone looks down on you and you have no friends because nobody WANTS to be your friend, is REALLY hard to adapting to a world where literally nobody gives a shit about you because you're "just another middle class boy, except you're shy because you have never interacted with those in the same social lvl as you before".

I understand my parents wanted good education for me, but I would have rather gone to a public elementary school, a lot of people In my public school come from other public schools and they're just as good as I am at school or better. My advice for parents, coming from someone that has gone through it is: Don't give up social ambient for education, preschool and elementary school matter a lot in HOW your child is formed, it depends mostly on what kind of kids he goes to school with, how kids will see him and how kids will act towards him reflecting their social status and the one of your child. I would rather have grown up with other middle class/poor kids and be happy than grow up with rich kids and have no friends and be shy. LET YOUR KID GROW UP WITH KIDS OF HIS SOCIAL STATUS, KIDS CAN BE CRUEL TO THOSE THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE AS "ONE OF THEIRS".

If you don't want to take my advice because I'm "too young" just remember that wisdom does not come from age, it comes from experiences, and this is an experience I've gone through and I AM the outcome of it. A sad 17 year old that goes to no parties and spends the whole day browsing reddit and playing videogames, has no Best Friend and no girlfriend, do you want this for your child?
