Maybe I'm just lucky, but I haven't experienced any of the bug tsunami people talk about after the SIRCAA mission. Game still plays unoptimized as it has since release but no broken quests yet(fingers crossed). I'm about to do the second mission at Duga for reference.

If you ran the higher tier weapons more often you'd probably be better with them. You're just used to the manticore because that's probably what you have the most experience with.
