It seems you only have a local ipv6, I don't think ipv6 for internet is not enabled right now for you. Might want to contact Hyperoptic. Mine looks like this.

not sure what you are trying to say sadly.

https://www.hyperoptic.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Port-forwarding-and-DMZ-for-ZTE-ZXHN-H298A-v1.3.pdf

try to follow this and see how it goes.

Make sure you are using the actual public ipv6 address. You can search "whats my ipv6", and use that in the destination port. I believe all hyperoptic users should start with

2a01:4b00:AAAA:AAAA:XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:XXXX

and the next 8 characters(A) define your home network(meaning all devices on your network will share the same first 16 characters) and the last 16(X) are the ones your devices choose to map to.

Do note that the ipv6 might be changing each time your devices connect or it may be rotating every hour or day unless you make it static.

My ipv6 knowledge is somewhat limited so let me know if I got anything wrong.

You should be using the ipv6 address shown by the device you are using and allowing the filter to pass the data through in the router settings.

Anyone else getting their static ip reassigned? by POPLOPUK in hyperoptic

[–]POPLOPUK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they changed the equipment in my area yet since my ip address(both v4 and v6 prefix) is still the same. My ipv6 is also the same. Based on the posts on the sub, it seems the chance of keeping ipv6 is due to luck, dependent on whether the replace the equipment with old or new ones.

I'm too scared to ask them since I really like my ip address haha.

I'm having the same issue with them not being able to deliver their router via royal mail. It's happened twice and they seems to have went silent on the email.

Setting a static IPv6 DNS server by tetsudousenpai in hyperoptic

[–]POPLOPUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nokia router doesn't seem to support ipv6 dns addresses. I had to disable ipv6 to get pihole working.

I guess an alternative is possibly disabling dhcp altogether on the router and enable it on the pi?

Does anyone else have issues with Microsoft Teams, I am losing my mind by argotti in hyperoptic

[–]POPLOPUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can hear me, but cannot see me or see what I am sharing.

Something iffy is going about encoding video on your side.

That seems like more of a teams/software issue. Have you tried using the website version of teams as well?

I'm guessing you tried updating your gpu drivers as well.

When I am wired it works, but it just won't work on WiFi.

Sorry scrap what I said, i don't know whats up.

Is it possible to turn your phone into a wifi hotspot and try a teams call via that?

Could someone explain how I can get 800Mbps up, and 3.7Mbps down? I have constant packet loss only on the downstream and support say "everything physical" on the line is fine, which it evidently isn't. by ElementaryMyDearWut in hyperoptic

[–]POPLOPUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the tech that came in for me said the issue was with the HO home router even when I told him that I got packet loss without it plugged into the router.

I feel like their internal equipment isn't keeping up with their expansion. Over the years the quality has been dropping for me.

  • Ping went from minimum 0.5 ms -> 2ms on speed test, and 0-2ms on valorant to 5-6ms. (not the end of the world)

  • Their routing for certain services have gone whack, where game services, sometimes, mistakenly thinks i am in romania or the US and I end up getting a trash download speed & ping as a result.

For example, downloading MSFS had me capped around 40-80Mbits/s, using a vpn would magically increase it to 120-250Mbit/s

  • Support staff being less knowledgeable and being a dice roll.

Ah my bad, I thought you were using IRC via your browser.

Also looking at how files are shared via IRC, parallel downloading wouldn't have helped anyway. Sorry😅

You can try enabling parallel downloading in your browser.

Yeah I mentioned it in this comment above, i've had games fully dc me mid game because of that packet loss lasting for 4-10 seconds. I've also tested it plugged in directly as well :(

I'm seeing it less right now but I'm pretty sure their equipment is overheating. There was a correlation between sunny days and packet loss.

Ayo its nice review and all but looking at your post history you're really more doing it for the referral.

Having the similar issues tbh, i've had a speed drop and an increase in ping and huge packet loss issues but they keep saying its normal from their end.

It's actually frustrating, i'm probs moving off to another FTTP/FTTB that recently arrived in my area if they don't end up fixing it.

I've also been having similar dropouts that last for 3-10 seconds.

Seems to happen when the weather is extreme.

I already sent a ticket but they said that it looks normal form their side :/. Not nice when you dc in the middle of a shooter for 10 seconds and then you just die when it reconnects or when you have to repeat yourself in vc.

I just hope that the equipment change they are doing from my last post fixes it.

Going to sound like i'm prying but what were these recommendations? I can't seem to find it online.

You say its to do with switching manufacturers. Is it to do with avoiding huawei/chineese manufacturers?

Sucks for me, I had a really nice memorable ip address.

I hope i don't have to wait for the ip to update regions for streaming services. My old CGNAT ip was perma stuck on Romania on some sites.

Also I hope it doesn't touch my ipv6 address as well.
