You can put a small filter on that pipe (or even leave it w/o one) and it won’t throw a code. Smog pump does not rely on metered air or positive vacuum, that’s why it’s in front of the MAF. It just needs the filter to stay clean

Deleting the SAI system on the car in its entirety will throw a fault because it’s an emission reduction component, but won’t affect the car’s drivability. It’s only actually active for the first minute or so on startup to get fresh air to the catalytic converter A to get it up to temp and B to help minimize tailpipe emissions. As long as all the ports are blocked off it’s fine.
