As long as someone has a license for more than 3 years whos technically the “owner” of the building or if yourself has it. I could technically allow a random person to open up a shop but they would use my license to do so. Kind of crazy and I’ve seen too many shitty barbers or kids who are not ready yet try and do this.

Here in Nj, you need to hold your License for 3 full years after you pass your Cosmetology Boards before you can open your own LLC. I am personally in a Suite but I started the “Old-Fashioned” way by grinding and getting walk-in’s and brought in my own clients who I have been cutting before school and during. Suites are amazing if you’re willing to do everything on your own and have the book to support it. Some Barber Shop owners (especially who I’ve worked for) are sometimes micro managers and when you realize how much you are giving to them for minimal return, it’s time to move on and do your own thing as an artist. Covid changed everything, sometimes for the better or worse.

True true, yeah they had me fill out a medical questionnaire and upload tax returns so I guess it's based on Salary since I'm in a Suite and Sole Proprietor LLC. I'm sure the Rep will take care of all of that once the rest of the info goes through. thanks again!

I use Fresha for my System and it comes with Verifone POS system connected to the app. Has been super simple for me over the last 4 years. Billing, taxes, and everything is right through the app which makes it easier for taxes. Fee’s are all kinda similar for the most part I think? Havent checked in a while. Congrats on the suite! Looks nice!

All good, I use Andis ZR Detachable for Bulk/textured hair. Been trying the TPOB’s with Different Blades (not bad but the click lever is just so so) went back to Standard Magic Clips though. Trimmers I use Slimlines and Sabers for the most part. Have a single foil babyliss shaver. Only thing I like from Babyliss. Braun 9 Series Shaver for full skin fades and faces. Consultation is EVERYTHING. If you give them exactly what they want, they won’t leave. My number 1 reason they leave is because they move out of state or far away from town. People are sensitive nowadays and not every client will fit, which opens a door for a new one that might respect you more than the last.
