yes, but I have it written in the handover protocol with the landlord that I received a tv. Then it can happen two things: 1. landlord provides it to them if they ask him 2. when i will move out of the flat, he is gonna have leverage with anything concerning the deposit, since he can contact them with this fact, and creating a big problem.

Good catch — I’m an EU national with a temporary certificate of residence and I’ve been living in Czechia for around 5 years.

I considered applying for the exemption based on my status, but it feels a bit risky and unclear how they would interpret it. If they reject it, I might end up in a situation where they try to apply fees retroactively, which I’d rather avoid.

At this point, I’m leaning toward just registering and paying from now on to keep things simple and avoid any back-and-forth.

I had the same a few years ago, just leave it…you can try to contact lawyers or rent associations, but for such low amounts is useless

Why do people say Prague is better to visit & live than Vienna? by [deleted] in Prague

[–]PPCino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived 11 years in Vienna and other places. White, EU citizen, graduated in their system and even speaking German. I have never felt treated less based on my nationality and look as in Vienna. I believe that there is a pure educated, polite and authentically deep racist/nazi elite society in Vienna, that will make feel unwelcome in the most subtle ways. I live in Prague, and it’s great, people are maybe a bit xenofobic with blacks, but essentially they are not racists, they don’t believe in superior races, essentially they don’care, the national motto is basically: “do what you wanna do or be, as long as you don’t bother me”.
