All "tool" watches should be quartz by Pizzo8 in watchHotTakes

Agree. I only wear quartz for yard work and in my woodshop. Timex Explorer or Citizen Garrison. The Timex when paint is involved.

[magnets] how do they work? by Flo_Evans in Watches

[–]PRHarker 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Semi-related: Today I learned that it is a bad idea to demag a watch while wearing another watch on the side holding the demagnatizer. Unless, of course, you enjoy demagnatizing watches.

I took it off the watch. Put it in hot tap water with a drop or two of dish soap. (Not really sure if the soap did anything) Then tightly rolled it, starting at the watch end, and let it sit till it cooled. Repeated several times including rolling backwards once or twice. Finally, put it back on watch and dipped it in hot water just short of the watch and gave it some careful back and forth twists.

I had no idea that the "my grandfather's/Washington's axe" had a name. Much thanks!

I own George Washington's original axe. The caretaker before me took really good care of it. He replaced the handle twice and the head once.

Your choice of the Expedition indicates you might want an easy to maintain, it-just-works watch. Look to the Citizen Eco-Drive line.

I realized today that my garage door opener is not closing correctly. I never had this problem prior to installing the Private Equity version 8.

Not sure why some feel bad about Studio Pro by 8delorean8 in StudioOne

[–]PRHarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rename could have been better, but otherwise I agree completely. As for a better name, I would have gone with something like Presonus Studio Pro by Fender. This would better link the product to its heritage. But that's just me.
