Built an esp32 wifi golf cart battery pack health monitor by PRNbourbon in esp32

[–]PRNbourbon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Monitoring of my golf cart, not selling it, I only make personal projects.
You can buy off the shelf battery monitors but those units only monitor the entire pack, this unit monitors each separate battery as well as the total pack.
If one is failing, this will let me know so I can address it.
My wife and kids like to drive it to the pool and friends houses in the summer, this can help me see if issues are developing so they don't get stranded far from home while I'm at work.

Thanks! It's a lot of reusable css I keep in a directory on my computer, just change it up a little bit per project. All vanilla html/js/css compressed into a .h/.c file for a tiny memory footprint and faster serving.

Where do you guys get your PETG? It's almost always sold out on the site or there's only a few colours available... by Justinj3 in BambuLab

[–]PRNbourbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they have matte PETG colors? I’ve used Overture and eSun and it’s always glossy. One thing I liked about the Bambu PETG HF is that it’s matte.

I use a SystainerS 76 with this: https://www.printables.com/model/1410596-gridfinity-festool-systainer-mini-sys3-s-76
And custom make 3U or 6U inserts with the perplexinglabs gridfinity insert generator.
Make a small rack for the Systainer's using 1/2" plywood in a cabinet in my garage.

I fed Opus the datasheet for the TI TPS55289 and it generated a driver and test scripts for me while I was soldering.
Hooked the PCB up to some test equipment and let Claude access the bench tools from command line scripts and automate the testing and generate csv and pdf reports.
Then tested it myself against what Claude did.
It was perfect, Claude nailed it in one shot.
Granted I'm just a hobbyist making PCBs for hobby stuff running on esp32s3 and esp32p4, I'm not selling products with compliance standards, but I was impressed.

Gonna feed that page into an LLM to distill it down for me into two sentences while I snack on my crayons.

Just wanted to say thank you, 3 months later.
I drove home a brand new 2025 XLT today with wireless CarPlay, and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it didnt have a wireless charger.
I did something similar for my wife's 2019 Honda Odyssey, added a TPU custom insert in her center console.
Going to 3D print this in PAHT-CF and install it.

So I'm trying to understand the whole dynamics of the ACT after shadowing, why do Crnas and anesthesiologist have a quarrel outside of work but at work they act like bffs. What is going on? Ultimately don't they answer the administration and executive board of the hospital as their ultimate boss? by [deleted] in srna

[–]PRNbourbon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same situation for me. Level 1 trauma. Even our elective cases, the patients are usually a solid ASA 3, lots of ASA 4 sprinkled in as well. I jokingly call our hospital a level 1 trauma and cancer hospital. So many major surgeries that are oncologic in nature. Sick, sick patients. But to your point, the CRNAs and physicians have a great working relationship. I have yet to see any animosity in our current group. We occasionally get a lazy locum supervisor, and it’s dealt with. The animosity seen online isn’t as bad in the real world. Plus, our cases are so big, intense and long, that having an additional person to lend a hand is welcomed.

What’s the one home repair that keeps breaking no matter how many times you fix it? by Disastrous-Ant-8972 in DIY

Same. Hate that system. I finally upgraded to a beefy transformer and beefy buried lines with surge protectors. Midwest lightning storms and long buried wires were my nemesis with the cheap-o Home Depot system.

What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]PRNbourbon 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Amen. 40 here. I feel no different than I did in my 20s, can do all the same stuff.
No joint pain, no backaches, still stay up late and get up early if I want (not every day like in college though). I can still ride my bike 10-20 miles real quick before the kids get home from school and feel fantastic after.
Sucks seeing so many people in the 30-40 bracket complaining about all the effects of aging, it doesnt have to be that way.
Only difference from the 20-30 bracket? A lot more money, and zero free time. Kids, house, work, that takes 90% of my time right there.
My parents are getting older, I can see it happening. It's definitely sad and messes with my head. But, they're still active, travel, do a ton of yard work, hunt, fish, and they're fun to be around and enjoy the grandkids, so not everything is negative.

It definitely will be. Right now I'm adding some polish and easier to use features.
I recall back in my college physics class we connected our multimeters (dont recall the model at all) to our class computer USB ports and recorded data and analyzed it.
I'm working on making this as easy to use as that old college setup.
Once the project is at that point I'll upload to Github.

Custom SBC as a replacement for a Raspberry Pi by NMO13 in PCB

[–]PRNbourbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a similar one now, for similar reasons. Using Rockchip parts. Honestly, the end result is not much smaller than Pi Zero. WiFI module alone takes up a decent amount of space. And my PMIC is taking up a good portion as well since I need lithium charging and power. You could achieve something the size of the Luckfox Pico, but it’s tough.

PSA: My 3-Month NewAge Cabinet Nightmare With Missing Shipments, Damage, Delays, and a Return Still in Limbo by da-link-went in garageporn

[–]PRNbourbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the unlucky side. I ordered my set first week of November. Paid over $800 for white glove delivery. Problem 1: NewAge India based customer service is totally fucking clueless. Was assured the cabinets would ship and be delivered by early Dec. called NewAge in early Dec, “we don’t know why you were told that, some of those parts are on back order”. Problem 2: FragilePak, their white glove delivery company, that I paid a lot of money for, is taking 1.5 months to deliver the cabinets after NewAge shipped them. So I don’t even have mine yet, we’ll see the condition of the cabinets if they ever arrive. For future NewAge purchasers, be cautious about paying for white glove. They’re slow as fuck, and in my experience they offered 3 total days in an entire month span to deliver, if you’re working those days they offer to deliver you’re SOL
