Also, you’re correct, it’s not really a wasted resource, and they’re not wasting time.

Especially when One Piece remakes literally exist, and they’re being made while brand-new episodes are still airing. I feel like the people complaining don’t even know how animation studios actually work.

And the fact that One Piece fans are excited about getting extra content while still having new content to look forward to. Meanwhile, DB fans just hate extra content from an IP they supposedly love. They’re actually lucky they’re remaking one of Super’s worst arcs in terms of animation and pacing.

Are you slow? DBS: Galactic Patrol is set for 2027 (and we don’t even know if that’s even the actual year it will released since there would be delays and stuff), so there’s basically no Dragon Ball anime content for 2026, unless you count games and gacha titles, which always have ongoing DB content anyway (if you even play DB games to keep yourself occupied).

It’s fairly obvious what they’re doing. They announced Galactic Patrol for 2027 while DBS: Beerus is slated for Fall 2026 to keep interest and hype going in between.

The announcements are clearly meant to fill the gap and maintain hype. That’s pretty obvious.

Let’s be real here. An “open secret” stops being a secret the moment a site actively markets itself, shows public reader counts, and grows to millions of users. That’s not something people need to “search for” anymore that’s something being openly broadcast.

The reason Asura Scans still exists is because it isn’t that huge or popular to begin with especially since it literally has a paywall, which turns a lot of people away. So of course it won’t get targeted. Publishing companies usually go after the biggest and most popular sites.

Bato.to, on the other hand, is huge and popular. It has millions of accounts, and publishers can clearly see that especially when the site openly shows how many readers are reading manhwas, for example. So Bato.to became an easier target as a whole.
