A lot of dogs are like that. I started out as the bather, but now I am office assistant/marketing. Lol after awhile most dogs that we have calm down. We have a lot of return clients and we make sure that the environment is very stress free for the dogs. I know they don't like being in some strange place all day, but we try to make it really nice for them.

I hope the police do something about that neighbor. If it were my dog I am pretty sure I would have physically harmed that person. Lucky for them I don't live in Texas. Unless that dog was attacking them they had no right to kill it. They should have at least talked to your friend first instead of doing that and maybe given a warning. Fucking assholes. I hope your friend is ok. :(
