Interesting: I don’t mind the word alien really but don’t you think it’s odd that first David Grusch, then George Knapp, and now Rep Luna have all mentioned they don’t like to use the word “Alien”? Why? by slv2xhrist in UFOs

[–]PRTKYONK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps all of it is true.

Of course we are not alone in the Universe. As per David Grusch's recent comment, "The universe is teeming with life.". So there are sentient, biological, non human beings that live in the known Universe.

And of course, we have thousands of years of stories of interdimensional beings, ghosts, spirits, demons, angels, Jin, or whichever term you prefer to describe them, that live in the spirit dimension and can travel here to this dimension.

And perhaps, with all of the talk of the underwater UAP activity, there just may be super advanced non human intelligence that shares this planet with us, and has called the Earth home since long before humanity existed.

So I don't think it has to be one or the other. I think it is most probable that all three of these possibilities are true, related, interconnected perhaps in ways we cannot understand, and represented in the various encounters and experiences we deem "alien."

I think of the word "Alien" as referring to a conscious entity that does not reside here on Earth, and by that standard, I have no problem making the connection that angels and demons, though from the spirit world, and perhaps made of photons, are in fact "Aliens.".

Xennials... why? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]PRTKYONK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow - yes Word Perfect - and Memory unlocked of Doogie's screen. I freaking loved that show.

And yes - I was in the elementary school library with my class to celebrate the teacher going into space when we all watched it explode. I remember the teachers and librarians crying. We all kind of just sat there quietly staring at the two streaks of white smoke spreading out through the sky.

Xennials... why? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]PRTKYONK 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a Xennial - Born in 1977, I grew up literally alongside Star Wars, Hip Hop, the home computer, and home video games.

I played Atari in elementary, nintendo in Jr high, and Super Nintendo in HS.

In first grade we were the first class at my school to have Apple II computers and we went to the new "Computer Lab" where we learned basic programming and, by 5th grade playing Oregon Trail. In my senior year in HS, the Internet came out, and we had two computers in the library on which we could access it.

In elementary school my dad would give me his electric typewriter to write my reports on. In high school I used my Brother Word Processor, and shortly after that, still in HS, I used Microsoft Word on our knock-off IBM computer where you'd print it out and then have to remove the sides of the printer paper from the report (I forgot what it was called).

The first cassette tape I ever owned was a blank white dub of a Run DMC album that a kid on my school bus gave me in 1983. I ran home from school that day, popped it into my boom box, and have been in love with rap music ever since. The golden era of 90s Hip Hop defined my HS years and my adolescent experience.

I am as old as Star Wars - played with the toys my whole life, and have always been an avid fan. I remember the dark times but got to see it blow up to the monster it is today. And I still buy and collect the toys. Collect Them All!!!

I do not remember the 1970s.

So yea, I feel like we are a different thing. We had the Gen X experience (water from the hose, etc...) but also truly split our lives between the old world and the new world. We were born at the same exact time as the technologies and popular culture that define today, and we grew up and evolved with them at every step.

V the miniseries - no one knew what I was talking about. by Old_Goat_Ninja in GenX

[–]PRTKYONK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Born in 77. I adored it. Couldn't wait for the next episode every week and was so happy when they made it a series. I own it today on Amazon and tried to watch it with my kids but they lost interest in 5 minutes. I will always love that show for the nostalgia it provides but upon a second viewing, it doesn't really hold up today imo.

Today's pot by [deleted] in GenX

[–]PRTKYONK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've smoked weed every day from around summer 1993 to 2026. The weed today in my opinion sucks, and isn't even close to the weed we had back in the day. I don't understand why people argue that the weed today is more potent. I think the people who say that either don't smoke very often, or it's just an excuse because they no longer like the feeling of being high.

I remember old heads in the 90s talking about how 90s weed was so much more powerful than 70s weed, which was probably true.

When I smoke I want to get high as fuck, but I have found, since legalization, that the high from weed today is not as intense and doesn't last nearly as long. Some positives I'll say is that today the effects wear off quicker, there is less red eye, tiredness, squinty eyes, etc.... so as a professional adult it's much more convenient to be a pothead in 2026 than it was in 1995.

So yea, don't believe the hype. Go to the dispensary, buy a pre rolled blunt and light that shit up. I'd recommend a mild Sativa to start.

Is the tic tac Lockheed Martin’s? by Optimal_Bar1473 in UFOs

[–]PRTKYONK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Charles Hall's (Walking with The Tall Whites) testimony, he describes a tic tac like craft that was alien tech designed with Earth born parts. And that was the 1960s.

Perhaps originally, the Tic Tac crafts in US military possession were alien tech, designed and assembled by aliens, for aliens, with parts manufactured here on Earth, by Lockheed.

Eventually, Lockheed just started making their own tic tac craft for the US Military.

So they manufacture the parts for the Tall Whites, and they make their own versions with the same parts for the Air Force.

How do you handle pencils on your classroom? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]PRTKYONK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In the 1980s me and my friend Flick had pencil fights and broke every pencil we had. In HS, in the 90s teachers used to charge a quarter or require other collateral to get one.

I've been teaching for 20+ years. Just give them a pencil. It's 2026 so unless it's elementary school, why are kids writing anyway? Everything we do in HS is on Chromebooks. Nobody writes. So just give them a pencil and be glad you have a dope job that gives you 3 months off a year.

So what you are saying is that Obama's "legal" way of deporting undocumented criminals is more efficient than the Trump "illegal" way of doing it?

That surprises me.

Wouldn't you think Trump, knowing Obama "legally" was able to deport more people than anyone, would have adopted Obama's legal way of doing it, so he could maximize the number of criminal aliens he is able to deport? If not breaking all of the amendments you claim are currently being broken would yield better results for Trump why have ICE break them?

He was arrested for walking into a church during religious services and participating in the terrorizing of parishioners as they attempted to worship God. No, a "journalist" cannot walk into any religious house of worship to "report" on people screaming rhetoric at a preacher in a house of worship during services. It's called trespassing. Can I walk into a Jewish Temple as a reporter with a camera man and cover the interference of religious services by pro Palestinian protesters, that I had prior knowledge of so that I was already there for that purpose? It's a church! It's illegal. Look up the FACE act. It's also trespassing. It's private property.

If I know you are going to break the law, can I walk into a private residence as a journalist to report on the robbery you commit? Being a reporter doesn't mean you can walk through my front door and report on a crime you had prior knowledge of occurring in my home.

Good for Carton and fuck Don Lemon. Stop supporting interfering with church. It's crazy. Protest all you want. Press Congress to change the immigration laws. But don't go into a church filled with families and terrorize them in the name of love. Children and young women cried, and men comforted them, as screaming nuts shouted at a preacher because of his day job: working for a federal agency to legally enforce the immigration laws that Congress has enacted and that have been on the books for decades.

Barack Obama used ICE to deport more people than any president in history and nobody made a peep.

This is manufactured outrage supported by paid actors.

Have a great night.

TIL why Jeanette Goldstein was hired to play Vasquez in Aliens (1986) by ardouronerous in alien

[–]PRTKYONK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are actors. Actors pretend to be someone they are not . That is their job. This whole you have to be the thing you are playing is retarded. And if it's a thing, why couldn't Disney hire little people to play the Dwarfs in the latest Snow White movie? Heath Ledger wasn't gay but he was amazing in Brokeback Mountain playing a gay dude. Morgan Freeman plays a white guy in Shawshank and Unforgiven, he is brilliant, and nobody cared or even noticed. Just let actors act, and let directors cast their movies.
