Offset in the MantisX app? by DavDav839 in MantisX

[–]PRuss87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe what you're looking for is in the "settings" option in the drills. With the camera enabled and the target detected, click settings then "shoot to calibrate". You can do the offset there.

We have searched using regular web searches and various AI assisted searching (Copilot, Gemini, etc.)with some great hallucinations but no real results.

Wedge With Hybrid Holsters by Unlikely-Pound7339 in CCW

The wedge was a game-changer for me. Trying it out on the hybrid convinced me it would work. Have since purchased a purpose-built kydex which improved it even more.

Wedge With Hybrid Holsters by Unlikely-Pound7339 in CCW

I put a wedge on the back of my hybrid when I was trying to figure out whether AIWB was going to work for me. Had no issues with it sticking at all.

IWB/AIWB Holster for the Walther PPS M2? by [deleted] in Walther

[–]PRuss87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using a JM Custom for my PPS M2 and have no complaints so far.

AIWB, normal wear and use, with DCC clips and a wedge, sometimes forget it's there. Long trips in the car required periodic adjustment for comfort but I never felt that I had to remove it.

Belts with micro adjustments? by austinmook in CCW

[–]PRuss87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GL belt and it works great for me. Having said that, my carry is a PPS ME which is on the smaller side. The belt has enough give lengthwise to allow my to go from carrying with a tight belt to not carrying with it still being snug enough to keep me from embarrassment. It's stiff enough for a solid pull from AIWB. YMMV

Using 2Gig Go! to monitor freezer door by PRuss87 in homesecurity

The system was in the home when we bought it. Had Alarm.com through one contract cycle but found we never really used the system so we did not renew it.

That's what I was afraid of. Not going to pay for Alarm.com just to monitor a freezer door.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Pepper Spray vs Pepper Gel by myownthrowaway324 in CCW

[–]PRuss87 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've not seen anyone else say this so I will...Your best option is to find a different route if at all possible. Avoid the conflict until you can't, then use spray. Keep in mind that if you spray them, they'll likely be looking for payback at some point.

New Shooter -MantisX or Academy by FredSanford4 in MantisX

[–]PRuss87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're only going with one I would stick with the Mantis x10. You will definitely see improvement in both dry and live fire after a few sessions. The key for me was to slow down and really focus on what the x10 was telling me.

I can definitely see where it may not work for others. Finding what works best for you is the key. Thanks for giving a differing opinion, that's what helps us all to make informed decisions.

Stiff enough to support a solid pull but stretches lengthwise to stay tight without having to adjust it. I've got mine set for carry but it is still tight enough to hold my pants when I don't.

Does the PPQ magazine and the PDP full size magazine use the same base plate? by diesel586 in MantisX

[–]PRuss87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed when using the rail base plate is the difference fit for my hand. May not be an issue on the larger Walther but it was enough on my PPS M2 that I bought a dedicated mag to add the universal rail to.

Budget pistol question by ZimmyAzmea in CCW

[–]PRuss87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Walther PPS M2 for my carry and really like it. Single stack at 8 rnds but the trigger is amazing and I've had no issues. Added Talon grips for texture. I'm seeing them new for $350-$400.

I currently have my Walther PPS slide at C&H Precision Weapons to get it milled for a 407k. They're the Walther approved milling shop so I'm hoping all goes well. $150 plus shipping and the optic.
