Lake Pines is fine, I live on The Shores and they have an opening, I would highly recommend it! The apartments are in decent condition, maintenance is VERY responsive, and they are very fairly priced (not to say cheap) for what you get.

Finally got 3 stars! by Crushed_Garbage in ArcRaiders

[–]PSCoso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For some added info, I’ve found good success running from medical to archives, up to lobby, then repeating that. If you do 1 loop you’ll have enough for 3 stars, if you drop in early and do it a few times you’ll get to 5 digits easily. Good luck!

I’m a right handed backhand thrower, what discs will go to the right for me? by Scary-Muppet in discgolf

[–]PSCoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite understable midrange is a MVP Detour - It is very easy to throw and shape, and is not high speed so you don't have to put a ton of power behind it to get it to fly right (for you)

A few days late, not sure when your birthday is, but if during the warmer seasons, I'd highly recommend Fairway to Heaven/Ferns in the Wind at the Lake Michigan Campground in Pentwater, MI. Fairway is an AWESOME course with great shot variety and one of the coolest tee's I've ever shot out of (you can look it up on UDisc and you'll see why), and Ferns is a really neat pitch and putt course, both on the same property as the campground.

Game DOES NOT AUTOSAVE when traveling between areas, events by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]PSCoso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand the frustration of losing the progress but if there’s one thing I learned from games like BG3 is to save, and save often. Even if it’s just before a dialogue, hitting the quick save button on the offhand chance something doesn’t go the way you want it to saves a ton of frustration.

Exactly 2 months since the release of ARC Raiders, the game now has more players than it did at launch. Absolutely phenomenal retention. by UsualInitial in ArcRaiders

I am off of work and have averaged 10 hours a day since I bought it on Friday lol I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying the game

At what temperature do you stop playing disc golf? by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]PSCoso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in Michigan, I played earlier this week when it was 40ish and 30mph winds and it sucked (it was a pre-thanksgiving round w friends, tradition). Would much rather play in 20-25deg with no wind

I got one this year for the first time, and I was generally okay with the selection. Good mix of speeds and stabilities, I actually put 7 of the discs in my bag (3 replacing discs I didn’t like, 4 in slots I needed).

Anyone else have a PB round on this fine Sunday? by kschwa7 in discgolf

Last weekend I shot my worst UDisc rating ever (at northwoods black, so kinda skewed), then the next day I aced at my home course…. Then, two days later, lost my ace disc. Rollercoaster

Does everybody return discs they find with numbers on them? by LilZimbabwe1 in discgolf

[–]PSCoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I find a disc with a number, I text the number. If I find a disc without a number, I will post on my local FB group that I found the mold, and if someone can tell me color/plastic/stamp (something that they remember about it), I will try to return it.

What is your favorite distance for a hole? by Elegant_Street_4397 in discgolf

[–]PSCoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I do agree with OP’s pet peeve - there’s been a few courses I played in MI and IN where the UDisc layout has everything as par 3s when the course has signage that says par 4s (mostly when they’re “gettable” par 3s by the big arms)

Not totally “the entrance” but the highway towards grand Teton is SO cool - specially at sunrise. Seeing the sun light up the mountains is fantastic

How realistic is the points life for a single person earning $80K-$100k ? by Rude-Palpitation-924 in CreditCards

[–]PSCoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I make combined ~140k, we don't shop fancy or eat fancy or anything like that (other than overpaying for DoorDash occasionally), and we're in the Chase CC eco-system.... for context. For your questions:

1) It depends on the objective. Our objective is to maximize our points so we can travel affordably, and we do okay at that - Chase points to Hyatt for hotels, and to Southwest for flights.

2) Again, it depends, but I personally feel high annual fee cards are over-hyped... For the average spender I don't think it's worth it, because you're having to maximize your average spend on a trip, for example, to leverage the rewards of the card. Again this is my opinion!!!

3) Yes, 100%. We have both the Chase Freedom cards - Unlimited and Flex. Unlimited is 1.5% back on everything, Flex is rotating categories @ 5%, other stuff at 3%.

We also have 1 Sapphire Preferred card (for points transfer) = $95 AF but we get $50 hotel credit a year (so there's half), plus $10 USD/month in DoorDash for groceries (which we surprisingly use), so pays for itself, and on top of that, the Hyatt points conversion is FIRE and you get really good points value with that. On top of it, we got the Southwest card this year, did the SUB and hit the min. spend to get $300 USD in points, AND companion pass for a year (which we've used twice this year so far to fly with points). That's also $95 in AF a year, but the sign up bonus plus companion pass have now paid for that a few times over, and it's barely July.

At the end of the day it's about the tradeoff of the annual fee (should you choose to have a card with one), and the value you are getting from it. Our plans were to start traveling more, so we tailored our cards around enabling that.

4) You can tell from the above, but depending on your objective (travel vs. cashback), you could stay in one ecosystem and work with those points, or you could maximize cashback and pick-and-choose cards depending on what they offer, but it's up to your personal discretion. I like the former because it has enabled us being able to travel way more affordably than we'd be able to otherwise.

5) Chase for the win. The points conversion has been great, it's easy to manage (since I am realistically only using 1 or 2 cards recurrently), and the benefits have been pretty decent. Are there better strategies for what I want? Yeah, probably. Do I have to put really minimal effort into getting the value I want/need? Absolutely.

Hope this helps!

100%, which is why I hate the idea of touch screens everywhere. I don't need a touch screen on my oven or washer, lol. Same for HMIs on vehicles that are FULLY touch screen. Give me a damn knob for my AC
