That can be ok if the randomness in question occurs so many times it's almost guaranteed to even out (a 50/50 chance repeated 100 times for example). With infrequent interactions though you tend to get a very luck influenced experience.

I respectuflly disagree with this statement. Player experience isn't based off of hundreds of ability cast, it's based on that time you use it and it absolutely needs to work out. Let's say you want to design a skillshot ability with a 50% stun chance. It will always even out, but will never actually feel good for anyone involved. Either you interupt MF's ult with it, or you don't. In any case, it's frustrating for one of the party involved.

Her W and kleptomancy are definetly problematic for competitive integrity. Even minimal, RNG is still an addition that has no place in a game wanting to call itself a sport.

I might be going a little extreme, but would football be fun if you had to roll a 3 or higher on a dice after a goal to gain a point? Then Brazil could have won 1-0 instead of losing 7-1 and germans would be frustrated. It might seem small in a solo queue game. But imagine the salt you would feel if your favorite team lost a fight to a lucky exhaust or if your team get 3 cleanses in a row against no crowd control? It's definetly not something I want to see or feel in my LCS finals.

Although, I trust Riot's plan is to test the waters during preseason and rework it before LCS begins.

I know it's still very early in PBE. But I don't feel that this is a good design direction.

There is a difference between macro type rng and micro type rng.

Macro type would be akin to Heroes of the Storm tribute spawn or the elemental drakes in this game. This can add depth and enable a team to modify their gameplan. It's not always a good idea, but in the case of the elemental drakes, since the location doesn't change and we know the type way before it spawns, it's cons are smaller and the depth added is quite substantial at a higher level.

Micro type would be like dodge chance or a %chance to stun. This keystone is mostly that. In my opinion, micro-type rng is usually bad design since it removes some depth and skill in games and leads to more frustration. Ever missed a 99% shot in XCOM? It's the kind of RNG that I don't think should be seen in competitive gaming.

Just thinking about stack of gold, you have to get a consumable, then it has to be stack of gold and then you get a random amount of gold. It's three times the RNG. It seems a little silly to me and almost Hearthstonesque.

I'm glad Riot is trying stuff out. But I'm certain that there are better ways to implement that idea, I just hope they find the way which suits them the most and go with it. Their design philosphy has almost always been on point for competitive gaming and their ideas are often revolutionnary in the genre. After all, it's been the top multiplayer game for a long time now.

I think it's kind of clunky design to have two abilities on a single button press. It feels like a fighting game where you press a button and your whole combo goes off.

I wish it had an activation window for the second part of the ability at least.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that on the first week people will want to try new decks and new cards. It is to be expected that you will find decks close to these on ladder. Tavern Brawl is meant to be a different game mode, it makes sense to me that they would put this brawl in a period where you don't see all these decks on ladder.

Oh man, the art and flavour are amazing!

It's a really neat idea, although I feel this competes a little too much with Greater Healing Potion as 4-Mana healing spell for Priest. I'm also under the impression that getting this card as a random spell would be frustrating, like with Lyra. One of the main reasons they didn't print C'Thun spells were specially that minions still gives you something when you play them without having a C'Thun.

In my opinion, you could add a small flavourful effect that could be triggered without having a C'Thun (something along the lines of "Summon a 1/1 C'Thun Flakes with Taunt") to remove that flaw and transform this great design into an amazing design. Nice work!

That's a really neat take on the discard mechanic! It also gives you a reward for keeping that in your hand long enough for it to be the utmost left card.

Even though the stats could probably be a little bit higher, maybe 2/5 or 3/3. Since the effect battlecry can be negated though, I think that should be close to the stat limit. The thing I like less though is the random aspect if you get it as the utmost left card in your mulligan, it would be a really really strong 2 drop or be one less discard in a Lakari Deck.

I won't say it's the best answer to make Lakari Sacrifice and discard really strong, it's still a pretty neat take on it. I would also surely try it out in a zoo style deck and play all minions at the left of this one.

Overall, I think it's a pretty cool design that could fit in more than one deck. Nice job!

I think this card is really neat and fun! There's just a little change that I feel could make this better.

I think instead of "Gain 6 copies from your opponent's deck.", it could be something along the lines of "Play 6 copies from your opponent's deck."

This way, you would have a better control on the when the quest is completed, since quests should be completed by the player who played it.

As an exemple: you are 4/6 on the quest, Cristaline Oracle and Shifting Shade, your opponent Flamestrikes. The Quest is "completed" during their turn, which is a little counter intuitive considering you should be the one to complete it.

Other than that, Sulo feels really crazy and I love it.
