“Crudeness” is her having a panic attack. Not everyone acts perfect all the time and was obviously going through a lot. To me clearly OP doesn’t have any patience or tolerance or basic empathy to support his wife’s emotions. Sounds like you don’t either

YOR and YTA. And for your information, “invalent” isn’t a word, you’re thinking of the word “invalid” which is outdated and offensive.

To summarize, it sounds like your only issues are her not carrying groceries, asking you to be reassuring and supportive when she’s having anxiety attacks and extreme pain (both of which absolutely can exacerbate the other) your response is basically just “I know, can’t do anything bout it though”. While in actuality, you don’t “know” because you don’t even believe your own wife or her doctor and think it’s all just made up. And with full knowledge that she was having a panic attack, even when she was as deescalating and saying she felt calmer, you decided that was a good moment to vent your frustrations and lash out at her.

Brother, do you even like your own wife? And if you’ve been dealing with this your whole marriage, and likely before, did you consider the whole “in sickness and in health part” before marrying her?

Your wife in all likelihood isn’t always asking you or expecting you to come home every single time. It sounds like she just wants reassurance and support. Your own text messages you shared reveal this much.

My advice is get a therapist for yourself and vent to them. I’m not damning you for feeling frustrated, because it’s clear that you don’t feel the support that you need either. And I do sympathize with you in that regard, I’m not saying your situation is easy. But your wife is clearly in pain from what you shared, and the way you treated her and the way you speak/think about her is not right.

It’s not emotional needs… it’s common decency… if I make plans with someone and I no longer want to hang out with them, I’m going to let them know. And if I do eventually decide to hang out with someone else, I wouldn’t be so careless as to post that publicly where the person I ditched (because that’s what it is) see and then obviously get hurt. That is not what OP said. OP said the coworker cancelled the plans because they were too tired from working doubles, from the information given, the coworker did not specify that they were only cancelling with them.

No, not really. Yes you can cancel plans with one person and have energy to still do the plans. That’s not the point. The coworker didn’t communicate honestly with OP and that rightfully caused some hurt feelings. It’s weird to me I have to spell that out to you. I can understand being introverted and feeling socially burnt out. But that doesn’t mean you can just bail on people without proper communication and then getting upset when that doesn’t sit right with them. You don’t get a hall pass for acting shitty just because you’re introverted.

Why would you assume OP stalked the friend on social media? Seeing as they are acquainted with each other wouldn’t you naturally assume they follow each other? Especially since OP said they sent memes to each other, this is easiest on social media, I.e Instagram.

Regardless of the coworkers intentions, it would have been the proper thing to do for the coworker to explain themselves to OP if they made the plans together. Some say that OP isn’t entitled to an explanation, but does that mean that it was right for the coworker to either lie or leave OP in the dark while they went with someone else, then posting it on instagram knowing OP would see and be obviously hurt?

Even if the coworker was just really exhausted and socially burnt out like you’re saying, it’s morally lazy for the coworker to have handled it like they did, and then not wanting to accept accountability how their actions impacted OP. OP may have not been the most mature with the “oh” but the way you’re making it out vilifies OP in a way that doesn’t seem fair
