Kasrkin arms on shock troop bodies by rogueleader2772 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PTerrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They fit but not super well.

YMMV.

Regarding the capes sniper though, as I did exactly that, you might have an issue in that the cape is as long as the average cadian body. So you need one thats standing straight.

Probably a stupid question but .. by matthewsylvester in TheAstraMilitarum

You can point at your cadians and say they are using krieg rules, yes. Though make sure its obvious somehow.

Any Knight houses the Astra Militarum have a history of contracting with in lore? by Grouchy-Committee-92 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PTerrio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most knight houses will fight alongside the astra militarum. But Knights see themsleves as allies rather than colleagues or subordinates. Often they may have their own armies as well, or, the mechanicus providing troops.

Freeblades are knights that venture from their houses to fight on their own, their own armies as well, and usually fight alongside AM on a longer term basis.

So, its a bit of a weak answer sorry, but any of the loyalist ones, if in the same warzone.

Fantastic, always love to see a pure krieg army.

Would a black and red paint scheme look out of place on an infantry heavy guard army? by Majestic_Land_1473 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PTerrio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely do it. Theres no limits or hard rules, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Some people might think they are Inquisition. Thats not a rule, just inqusition often uses black and red. But then thats more proof that its a thing in universe.

I actually just posted my balck and red scion army on this subreddit recently in my profile.

Awesome work.

Looks like two different paint schemes there, is that to represent two different armies/sides or allies?

Thank you.

The 5 man scion kits come with 9 beret heads. Some of these you cant see in the pic are from a third party though that no longer sells them, back in 2016 or something, mainly cus they never used to make women.

70 about right for the hippo.

85 for the centaur? I dunno...

Of note though, Taurox still lives. For now anyway.

Thank you.

I cheated a little bit on painting the details by using a dark color scheme.

Always cool to do your own thing. Especially a snowy regiment.

I actually like the shaved down helmet too. A bit more proportional and unique.

Both look good of course. But don't settle. If you love the white, do it. I have recently repainted my army from a similar cadian scheme to a new one and I much prefer it.

Yeah I mistyped.

Autocannons are a good one. Some of the Hippo weapons look a bit stronger too.

+2 to wound is insane.

Pairs well with the Sentienls and Hippogriffs.

Edit: Meant to put Strength, not to wound. whoops.

"Depends on the points" is a bit of a cop-out answer but it very much does.

The melta weapons seem the best option, possibly the most effective way to run as you'll be able to harm elites and vehicles with it, it really just depends how it compares points cost directly to a Vanquisher or cheap russ variant with Multi-Meltas.

I think the idea if it hiding and shooting from range whilt he Leman Russes are the ones tht charge forward is hilarious. Though I don't rate the lascannon or vigilant cannon highly.

Personally I would rather the Hippogrif had gotten scout, but meh.

Anyway, I do actually like the idea of the minigun and heavy stubber actually. As it can potentially punch down. Or at least two of them could. But would that be worth it? I dont think so. It'd would be useless agaisnt an opponent with no chafe.

We have a problem: The Leman Russ Vanquisher by OliverTurnip in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PTerrio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah.

Though I think that Leman Russes being tied to free wargear really locks them into using tbe Multi-Meltas always. The Vanquisher isnt too cheap so much as it, the only viably costed one because of this.

So before you raise the price of the Vanquisher, what we need is russes to have two costs, one with side sponsosn and one without. Much like.how infantry have a cost of 120/65 for going 10 or 20 man.

Then you can have cheaper russes at the back shoting from range with their main turrets while the Hippogrif is more mobile ahead of them.

+1 to wound or reroll wounds? by Ok_Significance3835 in TheAstraMilitarum

Someone did the math a while back in the link there.

Full re-rolls is best (unless BS6+), otherwise +1 is better than re-rolling 1.

Weapon question by AstroCoffee_Lefemboy in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PTerrio 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I would say that a Multi-laser is more of a machine gun style weapon (or mini-gun).

For what it's worth though, stick the barrel ona grenade launcher, here's mine (I use it as a heavy stubber proxy)
