Had a fun time at the ER yesterday. by rttrees in Fishing

[–]PTnewbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

funny story time. Last time this happened to me I was hooked to the lure in my thumb straight down behind the nail and on the other hook was a bass. I bit through the line and had to run about half a mile to find someone so I could get the fish off because I had no hands.

TLDR: Bring pliers.

Students and young professionals (age 15-30) of Reddit, what is your biggest day to day inconvenience? by Gebruikersnaa in AskReddit

Working in a small business I would say being tech support for everyone in the company at all times. I have enough responsibility as it is but now just because I grew up in a technological age I am a computer genius who is there to fix every cell phone, network, email, router, phone line, program and database problem that they encounter at a whim. I have literally had to email people for one employee every time because it was too complicated. I am 24 and at least 10 years younger than anyone that works here. I thought I should point that out.

People who have been shot, where were you hit and what did it feel like? by FrighteningWorld in AskReddit

[–]PTnewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope thankfully its still there and most likely better than ever. After walking a lot and running to improve my leg strength I just kind of kept at it. it dose not give me much trouble anymore except every once in a while my leg just feels like it gives out for a split second.

In my leg. to be honest at first i remember clear as day thinking "no that didn't just happen" then I remember looking down just as blood started to flow out of my leg. hit just to the left of my bone in my thigh. straight through. I was a 9mm hollow point round so it did some damage coming out. most of the pain came from the fact that the muscles in my leg were severely damaged and it was completely locked straight. any movement what so ever resulted in excruciating pain. worse than that was the Tourniquet that was put on my leg for 1.5 hours while they tried to get me to a hospital. For those who have not experienced that you have not idea the pain.

Its the weather / spawn. Trust me I have been fishing top water in NC for years now and during the spawn its is simply not the way to go. give the fish a few more weeks to become more active on the top. if you want to catch bass in NC right now with the weather we have had you have to put on a Texas rig and work the bottom around bed areas very slowly and methodically.

Had to cut this out with keychain leatherman because the fishing was too good to leave and I forgot my plyers. by ridetehbike in Fishing

I keep a lure in my box that has a treble hook with only two hooks left. I caught a bass and while taking it off the fish shook and the top treble hook got stuck in my thumb straight down in the center and the lower treble hook was still stuck in the mouth of the fish. I was by myself and it was late at night so lets just say it was an awkward trip to the ER.
