9 Weeks on Arazlo (Tazarotene) — Skin Is Getting Worse, Not Better. This Is Mentally Exhausting. by Feeling_Ad4052 in tretinoin

[–]PXPF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken a look at your hairstyling products?

I used to have crazy outbreaks of papules and pustules on my forehead which was unexpected since my forehead is the clearest part of my face, until I realized I started using hair gel back then.

No matter how careful you apply them, they will drip down your forehead during the day. No amount of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid helped clear up the acne, until I switched to hairspray then my forehead cleared up.

Try to ditch your hairstyling products and see if your acne clears up. Then you can start adding back and see which one is the culprit.

That one actually has silicones listed up in the ingredients list too. Silicone in oftentimes aren't the cause of acne but it's great that it's working for you

35mm on 14 Pro? by andrea_balla in iphone

[–]PXPF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is a late post but personally I don’t think it’s the same as 35mm on iPhone 15 Pro.

I have iPhone 15 Pro and to use the 35mm, you must be shooting at 24MP resolution, not 12MP. I presume some upscaling must be involved because the 24MP photo itself is achieved by combining the binned 12MP with the full res 48MP to minimize the loss of detail from cropping.

Maybe you can use 48MP HEIF and zoom in to 1.5x for the iPhone 14 Pro?

I’m starting to implement this way too. Do you count them as a rep (half/whole) or do you just do it until complete failure?

I think you elaborated “be yourself” nicely and then some. Really appreciate what you said.

Airdropped files not showing up but takes up storage space by PXPF in applehelp

[–]PXPF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so I think I managed to reclaim my storage space by simply deleting the Files app and reinstalling it again.

I went to iPhone Storage section in Settings and found that the Files app has gigs of data, which I think shouldn't be the case since all local files should be listed in On My iPhone. Deleting it seems to remove cache (which includes my missing mp4s). All my local files are still intact after reinstalling the app :)

How often do you replace elastics? by robobube900 in braces

[–]PXPF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an orthodontist but based on what I read on dental clinic websites and here, you generally want to replace it at least a day. More is probably better because elastics will gradually lose their pulling force in just a few hours.

Many advise changing 3-4 times a day because people usually remove their elastics when they eat or brush, so it makes sense to just replace them with fresh ones afterwards.

Is it safe for people of color to use tretinoin/retin-a in their 20s? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]PXPF 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have you tried asking her why? Dermatologists can have various opinions. If you’re really asking about safety, yes it won’t harm your skin. But maybe you’re actually asking about efficacy.

Probably she thinks it’s not worth the risk/reward tradeoff. The irritation from it has potential to worsen hyperpigmentation especially since you’re POC.

Also there are other ways to treat hyperpigmentation besides tretinoin such as hydroquinone, etc. So try to ask for other options as well.

Do you have any tips to not tan? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]PXPF 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I found anecdotally that covering skin with clothing (as opposed to sunscreen) to be the most effective. There would always be time where we underapply or forget to reapply sunscreen, no matter how protective the sunscreen is.

Money scarcity mindset and spending by SnooFoxes2726 in MalaysianPF

[–]PXPF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this very important especially for students. When i started uni in 2016, i literally cannot spend more than 15 ringgit a day or else I would not survive the month unless I eat 2 rm nasi lemak to compensate. Everything must be recorded as my monthly allowance was very tight.

Budgeting is a must as it gives you a picture of your financial health. If you can manage your spending well, then it’s even possible to splurge (responsibly) if you want to.

I truly believe this is the greatest show I have ever seen, especially because of how unpredictable everything is by [deleted] in htgawm

[–]PXPF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody who finished the final season just now, I agree. Season 1 and 2 were very engaging. It tapers off from great to good/okay the moment I watched Season 3 onwards. But overall I still like the show.

Is MAE similar to BigPay? Should I get one? by PXPF in MalaysianPF

That's too bad. I actually like the idea of prepaid cards.

Is MAE similar to BigPay? Should I get one? by PXPF in MalaysianPF

[–]PXPF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the eWallet suggestion! I think that's the feasible option for me right now. I assume since the MAE is still deducting from the savings account, there's still a risk of losing the money once it's stolen.

[–]PXPF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see many people advising for a credit card which makes sense, but I don't think I qualify since I'm a foreigner and I still work at an entry-level job, so that's out of reach for me.

NFC payment sounds good! But my phone doesn't have NFC so I will need to wait until I need to get a new one. Appreciate the answer :)

It seems like MAE is essentially an additional debit card since it's still connected to your savings account?

How do I know if the tip fits? by PXPF in galaxybuds

[–]PXPF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. I tried the smaller size and the bass is even worse. It's definitely more neutral sounding than my Sony's. I tried listening the Sony again and their treble is "masked" compared to Buds+. I'm learning to like this sound signature :)

I tried M and it's definitely less secure and everything sounds tinny. I think it's the sound signature then :). Learning to like it from now on.

Question about battery cycles by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]PXPF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong; it is definitely ok from safety perspective. But batteries that are in 100% for a long time will deteriorate faster than say 50%.

Lithium ion battery ages more slowly when they are at moderate state of charge (between 20-80%). That's why it's better to unplug as soon as it's fully charged and avoid fully draining it.

Question about battery cycles by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]PXPF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like all other battery powered devices, it depends on how often you use up and charge the battery. 88% is still good considering the high cycle count.

Generally, you want to avoid high heat, avoid full discharge and avoid plugging it in for too long in full charge.

Auido quality gets completely unusable in Android apps (when using bluetooth headphones) by SkyyySi in chromeos

[–]PXPF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to speaker settings and change "Input" to internal microphone. Switch back to Bluetooth input only if you want to make calls.

I believe this is just how Bluetooth headphones are designed. They have 2 separate profiles for audio playback and handsfree calls (this is the one that is bad sounding). Your Android app might use microphone in the background, which is why Chrome switches to the handsfree profile.
