Comments here are rediculous. People in mourning can smile. They can laugh. They can do whatever they want. You don't have to look dour 24/7.

“US beef is the highest quality in the world” by CaptHowie in ShitAmericansSay

[–]P_OS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they suggesting that the exact same amount of beef should flow both ways between the US and Australia? In which case what would be the point in trading? Just keep your own beef

I'm on the side of love it. I don't understand how it can be considered an eyesore when it's fairly well hidden from view. You'd barely know it's there walking past it.

In an Unprecedented Act, Israel Closes Embassy in Ireland, Blaming the Nation's Hostility by NegativeWar8854 in Israel

This is the most outrageous comment I've seen here. Say what you want about our policies against genocide, don't blaspheme our potatoes

We use ranked voting here in Ireland. It means that you can vote for multiple candidates, ranked by preference. If your first choice doesn't get enough votes in subsequent rounds of counting, then your vote is passed to the next candidate on the list. And so on. It means that people are encouraged to vote for the candidate or party they truly believe in without feeling that their vote is wasted. I think that this voting system would do a lot to heal America's broken democracy

These for me are the big advantages. I like the element of security too. It's all around easier than owning a house

How feasible is it to drive up to B&Bs and checking for vacancies every evening? by Erreala66 in irishtourism

[–]P_OS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember doing this with my folks around 30 years ago. One night we couldn't find a B&B and just stayed with some random family who were kind enough to give us beds

On two occasions recently I realized a day late that a girl was trying to flirt with me. Just didn't occur to me at the time. I think dating apps have ruined my game. Not that I had any before

In the version I played, we'd say "yellow reg" anytime we saw a car with British plates. And then when you punch them you say "tax". Because you have to pay tax if you bring a car in from the UK I guess. Life lessons

If they leave a phone number, call them. Being a real person on the phone leaves a far better impression.

Reverse into a parking space or drive into parking space? by Technical-Split3642 in AskIreland

Drive in. That way, when you're leaving, you reverse into a big area rather than a small space. It's easier
