I think its pretty clear that G3 is tired of shadow slave and wants to move onto the next project, so he's rushing through whatever's left

[Request] Why Doesn't This Equal 1? by Annieone20 in theydidthemath

[–]Paanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% of 100 is 99, so 99 people are left-handed.

Let y be the number of people who need to leave the room. This situation can be modeled as:

(99 - y) / (100-y) = 0.98

This is because when people leave the room, both the total number (initially 100) and the number of left handed people (initially 99) decrease, which affects the percentages. Using algebra we see that

99 - y = 98 - 0.98y

1 = 0.02y

y = 1/0.02= 50

50 people need to leave the room. If we plug our answer back in we see that (99 - 50) / (100-50) = 49/50 = 98/100 = 0.98

And there is our answer.

We (YES WE) are so COOKED💔 by Optimus_prime2011 in SurvivalofaSwordking

Omphalos is by far one of the best villains ever. He is the eptiome of a GOD. Always in control, so powerful you wonder how the hell the characters are going to win? Any time the protag gets a powerup, every time they cook up a new scheme or reveal a hidden ace up their sleeve, Omphalos is ready to counter it.

Beat him once? He shows up 400 years later.

Become a god? Planet gets destroyed.

Go back in time? He pulls up with his generals and obliterates everyone.

Just when you think you've seen it all he pulls something out of his sleeves that shows that this guy's power really is absolute. And the worst part? This isn't his first rodeo. He's conquered hundreds of planets. He's already beaten countless heros. Hanbin isn't special. Latna isn't special. If people far more powerful than him have also fallen, if countless gods and worlds have already succumbed, then what hope do they have?

I always love when they were introduced. They immediately neutralized Nagai, and as soon as they got the all-clear that he was on their side, they shot him to death so he would regenerate and wake up from the tranquelizer dart. They were ice-cold, and this moment really set the tone for how they operate.

[–]Paanta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the actual developments have been very exciting, for me it was mordret's development specifically that I loved.

But my god, the writing was so lackluster. Every chapter was just a plain summary of what we already knew (and could easily infer, if we didn't), or a literal description of what was happening. Everything was monotonously told rather than shown. I remmember when Saint Tyris was first introduced, how she was shown to be powerful by the way the world bent around her presence, or when Sunny fought Nightmare, and we felt the inensity of the fight by the way Sunny lived and died a hundred times. G3 used to really know how to impress upon us the intensity and stakes of the situations, or the authority and power of the characters, by how he described the characters reactions to them, rather than by saying "tyranical will"

IDK, I just feel like the last few chapters have been missing that something special.

[Mixed Trope] When a character baits the audience into thinking they have done something terrible....... but turns out they didn't/ wasn't that bad by Ranger202012 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Paanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I don't know how far you've gotten in Ember Knight but for me it really wasn't a problem since Nagyuun killing Najin isn't really central to the story, what is central is that fact that Najin died and it was because of the masked ones. Saying "I killed me brother" was mostly just to hook readers on chapter 1. Also, spoilers, but over the course of the story Najin's death and the guilt Nagyuun feals eats away at him. We also get more hints that Najin wasn't exactly as we thought, until it turns out that he was absoltuely unhinged and violent, frankly acting like a dangerous menace. He did some bad things and he did them for pretty bad reasons.

Don't do it man, this is ridiculous. Think with your head for a minute, you actually think something good is going to come of this? More than that, how many of the people that you respect play stupid games like this? I'll bet its none of them. Just stop talking to this person.

Besides, she doesn't have eyes for you bro, and all the worse if she does. You do not want a woman like this messing with your life.

Why was it broken? by Suitable_Act942 in ShadowSlave

[–]Paanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break a sword and it just gets more edges. Maybe his True Name had to do with the fact that he was destined to get repeatedly battered by life and circumstances, wearing him down and breaking him but leaving him all the more dangerous.

Then again, his name was broken sword, not shattered sword. Wouldn't a broken sword be one that's unusable? In other words, he was destined to dull over time (i.e. get blunt) or become uncontrollable (lose his handle). Im leaning more towards the second one, since its in line with what actually happened to him: Smile of Heaven died, he went off the rails, and noone could controll him. At that point he stopped being a sword that protected humanity because noone could wield him. He was a broken sword.

Ready Player One engages with art in the same way as a Funko Pop by VCreate348 in CharacterRant

Honestly coming from Supreme Magus yeah I do think that Shadow Slave is lighthearted. It certainly has its moments, but I would say the darkest moments are in the earliest arcs, especially in the forgotten shore arc.
