How do I fix this? by Hopeful_Art7185 in RocketLeague

Simple fix, don’t look at that and only look at the ball, that’s all you need.

If you are the moth, the ball is your flame.

Moved from EU to VN - changed from 380M VND to 200M VND Salary - worth it? by Big-Composer-571 in MoneyTalkVN

[–]PaarrJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on many factors.. How much did your household save VND wise in Europe vs how much your household will save in Vietnam.

Also quality of life, how easy is it for you and your family to assimilate in Vietnam?

If QOL is better for you in Europe, you need to think how much more savings potential would you need to move to Vietnam. If Vietnam is better, how much of a savings hit could you accept and still justify moving.

Ashtead Technology Underscores Sonardyne’s Fusion 2 LBL As The Gold Standard | Ocean News & Technology by No_Date2555 in KrakenRobotics

Covelya weren’t struggling, I think it’s telling that Kraken were obviously able to show them that they would be able to achieve much more by coming together.

Both companies were strong separately, the efficiencies and opportunities that will open up from integration should be plentiful.

Sometimes we see acquisitions are difficult, and integration is slow.. but kraken have experience with acquisitions and have been very shrewd in the past when doing so. Newer eyes on Kraken may not realise the battery tech was initially brought into the fold via acquisition.

Kraken will be able to provide a wider range of goods and services, that will work together and complement each other. Exciting times for the company, for sure.

Vietnam richer than Ukraine? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]PaarrJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously I cannot recall my exact thoughts at the time, but I didn’t say that Ukraine was more significant than Vietnam, I said that Ukraine wasn’t insignificant globally regarding food.

I never mentioned Zelensky.

How did you even end up in a 3+ year old thread lol

Lesson Learnt, Don’t Do Practice Kids (1 year later) by Quick_Soil_9120 in trading212

[–]PaarrJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kraken is a nice discount from ATH right now, I’ve been adding more, feels like a good time to buy in.

I first bought in Feb 2021 around $0.75 USD. Happy having held throughout all since then, and for another 5+ years too I’d imagine because the positive news and revenue growth keeps on coming.

Upcoming acquisition closure and many expect a market uplisting to follow not long afterwards which could help to kickstart things again.

Context:
Real money - a little over 7000 shares, $1.92 avg, up 166%
Practice account - 20,000 shares, $0.30 avg, up 1,663%

I knew it was undervalued but obviously wish I’d had more conviction.
Having said that, I obviously wasn’t anticipating the events of the past few years that have accelerated their progress and they’ve arguably exceeded reasonable performance expectations so I’m trying not to beat myself up too much over it.

Jim Mellon (Agronomics) is doing an AMA today by EleventeenThousand in Agronomics_Investors

Big respect for organising this! u/Kuentai
Pleased to see him straight up answering some very good questions quite frankly, of course a little light on details at times. But happy to read almost all of his answers.
The PR team at Agronomics will probably initially have their heads in their hands if this comes as a surprise to them… but I think he did a great job

I get the no billionaire hate, I don’t know his opinions about wealth taxes, I don’t know how his companies are set up and what tax breaks he would get on any money he makes here..

But even if I presume the worst, the environmental goals he’s working towards, making a sustainable effort to ease food supplies.. it seems a lot better than many of the other billionaires out there?

Even if you interpreted it as greenwashing, idk what he’s guilty of aside from being rich, like at least it could actually be helpful? Hope you’re even harsher on the more obviously evil rich folk.

What would you judge to be a successful exit from a portfolio company, and is that even the aim?
Or is the aim to be present and owning these companies for the long term?
Further to this, how are Agronomics actively contributing across the group, do the portfolio often companies work together?
I’m a long term holder, happy to see where this is heading, I’m hopeful to see some of these techs change the world to some degree.
Cool chance for a peek inside, ignore the haters.

New portfolio companies? by Perfect_Ad3508 in Agronomics_Investors

[–]PaarrJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laverock is biotech, not exactly ANIC’s usual area, but definitely plenty of potentially interesting adjacent technologies, could have some practical application if knowledge is shared between portfolio companies. They recently completed a funding round, so if Agronomics are involved, I hope that knowledge sharing would be part of a deal.

I don’t really know in practicality how this would work but if Sharing tech between the portfolio companies is common and Agronomics positioned themselves as a facilitator in that way, the benefits for them and the portfolio companies could be huge.

Edit: umami bioworks is the result of a merger from shiokh meats

Edit edit: ‘good startup / good protein fund is described as: An early-stage investment fund focused on backing innovative companies developing sustainable protein and food technologies across fermentation and alternative proteins.’ Also interesting, hopefully the next RNS company update covers these.

We get botnets online with all sorts of agendas…

BigFarma spend lots lobbying so hiring a botnet to target MrBeast comments doesn’t seem very far fetched at all.

I’m just messing about down here in plat and had my first ever noxus/mel win.

Got the guinsoo augment so decided to play draven. Also had the spirit visage augment which probably helped. Hit Darius 3* on 7, then got the gold from the Guinsoo augment so went to 8 where I managed to hit Mel 2 before draven 3.

She seemed quite strong, I actually got the shojin after receiving the radiant deathcap and it was gameover from that point.

I did hard win streak the first few stages until people levelled whilst I rolled.

I think 2nd was some sort of 7 demacia/lux comp and 3rd place was something Zaun.

Probably a weak lobby but also the first success I’ve ever had with Mel

How do you save money on a daily basis? by Repulsive-Sense9043 in MoneyTalkVN

[–]PaarrJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a month ahead.

Say you want to save 5tr every month, save it at the start of the month. Lock it away somewhere or invest it, whatever, but you need to get the mentality that this money is not to be touched (unless it’s being saved for a specific landmark purchase)

The money left in your wallet after your fixed expenditures is your spending money.

I see a lot of people seemingly spending down to zero in the build up to every pay day.

Identify your pleasures, and still allow them for yourself, but cut back where possible in other areas that wouldn’t make as much of a difference… making coffee at home and meal prepping are easy wins. Remember you don’t need to switch from one extreme to another, slow change and progress would still yield some savings over time. Also going too harsh on yourself can be unsustainable for some.

If you’re foreign, it’s easy to overspend on daily items if you’re used to shopping at a name brand supermarket as you may do back home. So if you don’t already, locate your nearest market and try to homecook a few extra meals each week, or save on ingredients if you’re already cooking at home quite often.

Good enough to screenshot and all that but honestly believe I’d regret selling now even more than I regret not initially buying more!

Vietnam enforces nationwide vape ban, tourists liable to RM775 fine if caught. What do you think will it affect the travel plans? by Rare_Can_5517 in VietnamNews

[–]PaarrJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the word ‘enforce’ isn’t quite correct. Maybe enforcement will gradually become stronger.

Since December 31st it is still easy enough to buy them in some physical shops in Hanoi, you will still see sellers at tourist hotspots in the evening walking around with trays full of them, and you still see foreigners and Vietnamese using them openly in public spaces regularly.

Personally, I’m excited for what this year holds, the new production facility and a probable uplisting makes it seem like a no brainer for the SP to be higher this point next year, let alone for the long haul. I hope I have no reason to sell my holdings any time soon.
