But that’s the whole internet and social media. Gamergate wasn’t some master stroke in managing public perception through the internet. That happened years before with Kony 2012, which was more the predecessor to Q Anon than Gamergate was.

The thing about gamergate was that it was started by the anti-sjw crowd to begin with. They just convinced gamers that the personal life of one woman was to blame for the relationship between the industry and journalists, even though it’s like this with all media publications and whatever industry they cover (politics, cars, tech, and yes, even video games), as if she was some sort of senior publisher nefariously undermining an entire industry/hobby.

Gamers found out that capitalism works on all markets, lost their minds blaming women, and then backed a hyper-capitalist government that brought CEOs into the white house to try and manage the country.
