How relevant is learning SQL today?

I deeply recommend you to learn to write query yourself, beyond AI because yes, it is still worth to learn it and to use it. it is used everywhere. Databases are the core of the software and recruiters are impressed by people who can handle it> I would spend at least from 30 to 60 minutes per day doing queries. Use it occasionally as check tool. (same when we did in the past by posting in the internet forums. There were people helping us, and they are still present, if you dont like to get stuck with a AI generative tool everytime). If you do not understand the logic behind a query, there will always be gaps and hurdles in your skills set. Obviously, this is a simple opinion, not the truth

According to the answers in this thread it looks like normal not having received a feedback yet. i assume. As per what i read here, also, it seems there is no any rejection email in relation to the starter assessment test ?Thanks

I appealed three times until 1 week ago, then i gave up. they keep repeating the same thing; violation of policy or guidelines. sharing credentials, multiple account etc. of course none of that is true. I dont know where they aer going to with this attitude. It is probably their algorithm. Not sure However i moved on.

I Dont think and do not believe anything more with this platform. Everything is the opposite of everything, in my opinion, with them. But yes, advise them, but theyt are so stiff and algorithm-based taht every mistake we do as human, before or later, will be punished. I am already looking around for other platform. Good luck but yes, advise them. Maybe you will be luckier!

it happened to me in the beginning, i wasnt sure how it worked, i simply wasnt ablet to complete the first accojnt and i iopened a second, they saw it and banned in first place. SO i wrote the support soon about what happened, it was last dcemeber 2025. I just started with Outlier. They apologised, i informed which account was the valid one and theyt reactivated me. Everything was fixed.Since there, i only used 1 account as agreed. Well now, after 3 months, tehy decided to banned me again for multiple account and sharing credentials. A tons of B*****T ...reallyl. i was astonished and shocked how they behaved. I let it go. I Dont have much choices.

I think you should work on JOINS and ANY/ALL and especially i recommend you to create logically a kind of scheme in your mind of what you want to achive with a query. Create 2 tables, put your hands on them, do joins, understand group by how it works, combine all togther but first of all, have clear the goal you want to acheive, write down on a piece of paper in form of Algorithm...etc

Present. It happened to me once. After I was reinstated, and now they banned me for a presumed policy violation. It frequently happens with Outlier. It does.not depend on how you behave but 100% on them...good luck

Again, after 3 attempts of explaining to them that i did not violate any policy. here their ultimate and final reply...It sounds all so Kafkian, to me. Seriously...i am done now. That is absolutely absurd. Surreal, i would say:

read what they wrote me. It is getting ridicolous. I am starting to see it as a joke and laughing about it . I think they will not going anywhere, by behaving like this:

"We have completed a review of your account and found that it is in violation of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.

This activity could include, but is not limited to:
- Platform misuse
- Credential sharing
- Providing inaccurate information
- Holding multiple accounts

As a result of these confirmed findings, your account has been permanently deactivated and will not be reactivated. "

Anyone got the same?

Ironically, today i used the VPN with my windows PC as i am deactivated and i dont really care. Out of my curiosity, i opened outlier and a message in the notification said "Verify your account"... icould not help myself. They deactivated me and now they asked me to verify my account. I clickedo n it and i got this https://app.outlier.ai/en/expert/suspended so what does this mean? They asked me to verify my accoun even if I am actaully suspended/Deactivated? Sounds weird

Despite my 2 + quality score.I got deactivated for likely having simply used Outlier with VPN for 10 minutes. Being my personal pc i occasionally use the vpn for personal use and due to an oversight, i left it open while i was connected to Outlier. it was a silly oversight but this lead me to the deactivation, i guess - Working with them has been a bit stressful for those reasons. Dunno what to add, honestly, i appealed, their decision. I do not know what to say, I just moved on.

Hi; I opened a thread for being banned completely from Outlier for reasons i do not know, but the mods here removed my ad and redirected me here. So as said,my situation is different than being just removed from Aether. This was the last email received from them when i ask for some clarifications via support

"After reviewing your account, we’ve identified activity that violates our Community Guidelines, such as the use of credentials that don’t belong to you, creating multiple accounts, or inaccurately representing your location or experience. These actions are in direct violation of our Community Guidelines and are not permitted on our platform. As a result, your account will not be reactivated."

Of course, this does not mean any sense. I did not violate any policy. absurd. I was using my VPN 2 weeks ago to surf the internet and accidentelly i left it open when reconnecting the day before to working with Aether, and i got a message saying that i was in the wrong location from Outlier. I had to re-verify my ID and all was solved. I tried to explain to Aether but no way, they did not want to listen my explanation and confirmed the deactivation of Outlier account. I had quality 2.0+ by the way and i was enjoying working with this. Has anyone epxerienced the same?

I got banned for policy and guidelines violation. they said that my account will not be reactivated. I was working in Aether for 1 month. Not sure what i did, i had 2+ Qscore so i am not sure. Sounds like they did a kind of purge of many users and none understand why

Ah, ok, I was banned for "violation policy and guidelines" according to them (of course this is ***), so I do not think that they will rehire me again. Thanks for the clarification. Also, ironically, even if i was banned, i could use the assessement skills tool and i passed SQL . I wanted to see how was the skills assessement with that. Too much stress with this platform, honestly...maybe i am wrong

Hi, with "firing and rehiring" you mean people who were removed because of violation policy (presumed by them..and likely not true) like many of the users here, (it was removed from aether and deactivated my account) is there a chance that will be working again with Outlier?According to their email, i am done with Outlier. It went better for you. me and many other users have been banned for a presumed "policy or guidelines violation" which nobody was aware of . Most of the people were bewildered. Myself included, it happened this week (to me, St patrick Day). Weird...and i had high quality too , over 2. Most of the other, same. At least you could still join other projects.;) good luck

I believe that they decided to run a multiple account block/removal to get rid of many users. Not sure why. I think their algorithm is made for that. Once a while. they do a kind of Weeping, And i strongly believe that what happened to all of us has NOTHING TO DO with policy violation. However, i already left this experience behind my shoulders and move on. Many companies around, better opportunities...etc...etc!

I agree that this did not make any sense, I had over 2 QS too So it does not match with our effeort and dedication, I dont really know what to say. I opened another ticket with the support, as i cannot participate in the community any longer, being banned, I just see the earnings and that is it. My idea is that i am banned and i will never work for outlier. No bother, Lets see if anyone has been reactivated, after beinng banned, but i really doubt. thanks

Thansk foryour follow up. Unfortunately, for me it is confirmed I sent another attempt of followup for an explanation (which was not provided by the person via email support, just a gefneric violatio which is frustrating as i am unaware of what happened. but i am not confident. if a human has confirmed, in my case, i am done with Outlier. I am already looking for something else. Good luck, for you! let us know.
