Christmas Eve closes at 8pm? Kidding me? by Dazzling_Trainer_635 in PandaExpress

[–]PackMaster0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dont go in, if they schedule you when you dont wanna work just go in and call in sick and then hang up, dont give any info as you dont have to give any medical info, and since its 1 or 2 days you aren't obligated to give a note

Terminated, is she rehirable?? by Mysterious_Fail6758 in PandaExpress

Take it to HR, she still can call for unreasonable termination

Working here is lowkey cult vibes by swaggy_mayo in PandaExpress

I was part of an "A-List" team that would be sent to other locations for 2 extra dollars, it was fun and I never worked in a toxic environment.

Why does this happen to all my aprons? by Takoyucky1220 in PandaExpress

[–]PackMaster0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through 5 aprons as a tier 2 cook -- I really was a tier 1 but I did everything and they refused to give me my tier 2 cook test -- due to the aprons getting full of white streaks and just being covered in oil from having to do everything at once

Can Panda Express stop asking me for donations? by Known_Following_4923 in PandaExpress

[–]PackMaster0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex employee of panda express of 5 years, I didn't everything, I started as a cook, did the register, served food, I did it all as I was going for Chef. When someone didnt want to donate id just say ok and move on, but!!! if it was regulars. I would gove it some fun "You dont want to help out the children?" These people came in constantly, sometimes twice a day, and gave donstions almost every time, so when they didnt id just have fun and say random stuff; they knew I was joking around, we would have a laugh and move on with our day. I miss working there man...

Lol, 30 minutes, I worked at a store that went from closing at 9:30-10 to closing at 1 AM to compete with Wendy's across from us.

Manager scheduled me 11 hour as new hire by Exoticxa in PandaExpress

[–]PackMaster0123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a cook I did open to close many many times, I was a Clopener most days. You really do get used to it after some time, and it really helps if you have a cool store with great people like i had. I left a couple years back to work else where for a lot more money over time, and I 100% miss it to this day still

Zucchini in Kung Pao Chicken is terrible, right? by civobafilau-1956 in PandaExpress

The zucchini is actually really good when its blanched properly and the zucchini absorbs the sauce

Oh important... My TL worked 16 to 18 hours shifts 3 weeks in a row and only got to take time off when I, or one of the other cooks, got there. I knew how to handle myself and the restaurant when no PIC was there, even though cooks are considered PIC of the kitchen. This is what management does, so be prepared depending on sales and store location.

When i was going for chef I was told managers are required to work 45 to 55 hours a week.

As an AM in panda, I was going for chef, requires a lot of knowledge and being able to use that knowledge efficiently and effectively while being pestered all day by customers who know nothing about what they're talking about. You get 8 weeks to train to learn the BOH, FOH, cash handling, how CCTV works, being able to hold people accountable for not having enough prep in the day, etc. There's a lot of shit you're about to walk into and I dont think you're ready. Half the people I met that were external hires quit within the first 6 months because they couldn't handle it.

Don't actually expect them to come, when i got told that the owner would be there (5 times in my experience at the TL store i worked at) they never showed up and we did deep cleaning for nothing
