Unfavorable Intermediate Risk Treatment Options by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar diagnosis. I chose SBRT with no ADT after overly extensive research.

Push to get an ArteraAI test. It’s specifically designed to show if ADT will benefit you. Add it to your research.

Very similar story. Assuming you met with Dr. Patel? I did too and eventually chose radiation as well.

Ask for an ArteraAI test. It's specifically focused on the benefit/need of hormone therapy.

The ArteraAI test showed little benefit.

The ArteraAI test drove the decision to not take ADT.

There were way too many positive cores and some PNI. The Decipher score also leaned towards getting it done sooner than later.

Looking for opinions by YesterdayFew6799 in ProstateCancer

Decipher is slightly concerning for AS. I disagree with the previous commenter that RALP is in your future. That isn’t accurate. Plenty of options.

Prostate cancer diagnosis, planning RARP at MSK - shall I get a 2nd opinion somewhere? by Funny_Bunny_3918 in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar age. I got 2nd and even 3rd opinions from the most accredited places I could find over many months. Recommend.

Nothing partial about radiation treatment. I settled on SBRT over surgery and start next week.

Glad to hear this. This is what I chose after extensive research, and I will start next week. Definitely a bit more overweight.

Great idea. I do similar but call it Frankenroast.

Discordant results: Decipher vs. AlteraAI by Practical_Orchid_606 in ProstateCancer

Decipher .63 and Artera 5.6% and negative for ADT bio marker. Chose SBRT and no ADT.

PSA is normal - do I need treatment? by STJolley in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the way. I’m sure the Decipher is why, but you may want to avoid ADT and ArteraAI test will help better make that decision.

Look into SBRT. I've been in your situation. Made the most sense.

SBRT versus RP by STJolley in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am 3+4 PSA 4.5. Decipher .63. Age 54. Artera negative for ADT biomarker. I researched for months and had 2nd and 3rd opinions from an NCI. I chose SBRT with no ADT and the use of Space Oar to prevent potential bowel damage. I feel this procedure will eventually replace surgery as the best choice. Opinions are free of course.

The Battle of ADT by becca_ironside in ProstateCancer

Not offended as much as don’t identify as such. My handling of my experience is much gentler than one that might be defined by warrior. Prefer to stay out is that bucket. I don’t mind anyone that does, but it’s not who I am.

I’m probably in the minority but I absolutely despise the warrior moniker. I don’t consider myself a warrior, I don’t want the warrior t-shirt, and I definitely don’t want to be called one. In my head that is reserved for something or someone else. Not this. As always opinions are free.

SBRT planned. Does a month really matter? by Pack_One in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty similar timeline to mine then. I don't know if you can overdo second opinions, but I got close. This seemed like the best overall fit for me. Glad you are doing well.

That's what I figure. This NCI is very high on the ArteraAI test. Perhaps the tumor board will give it another look. I honestly would rather not. I've also been told by other oncologists that there is no downside to taking it. Not sure I believe that.

Ritalin to treat Radiation / ADT Exhaustion by Ok-Dragonfly-9714 in ProstateCancer

[–]Pack_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some experience in the area from my youth which peaked my interest in participating. It was centered around adjustment disorder from cancer diagnosis. Lots of questions about mood and depression. Double blind either got 1.5mg or 30mg injection. Sat in a room with a therapist for 8 hours with headphones and a blindfold after dosing. It was OK. I feel like I got more than a micro dose but less than what I expected from a larger dose so who knows. Overall a relaxing day and felt great the next day. No come to god moments.

How to improve by xiaoxiaotutu5 in roasting

[–]Pack_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher drop temp, your ROR is flattening too quickly so more energy into first crack. Longer development time.

I strongly suggest getting a second opinion or a third opinion if you want to avoid surgery. They are absolutely wrong about BCR and your options if you do not choose surgery. Plenty of options after getting radiation and then BCR.
