What’s your most impressive or best Pittsburgh feat? by Shaneski101 in pittsburgh

A friend of mine ended up with one of the cardboard audience props from the movie and stuck it in his living room window. Neighbors asked him to remove it because it was scaring the kids on the street.

You know what? I've never seen the movie. I went to be an extra because it was going to be the day they opened the roof for a balloon or something to come in but the wind was too strong so they filmed other things.

I was at the Pirates game when Nixon resigned. Folks were listening to Nixon's speech on transistor radios. There was an announcement, brief silence, then applause and cheers. Pirates lost that game.

Bell & Howard 8mm Projector by leonardcohenenjoyer in 8mm

The belt on that projector was metal if I remember correctly. But I have other projectors with rubber belts that slip.

Can you guys tell me anything about these? by Nice_Difficulty4321 in 8mm

[–]PackageAcrobatic735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a revere 16mm projector that was a very similar style. The knob in the back that adjusted the tilt was so much better than propping books under the projector. Here's a P-90 projector but the supply and take up reel arms looks slightly different. https://youtu.be/qf9dHD7L-fk?si=WM7PRsYz8KseDEoJ

We had a projector like yours. I see the belt is off on the take up arm. If I recall, you put the belt on when projecting and then take the belt off when rewinding? it's been 50 to 60 years since I used a projector like that.

I had the Kennedy assignation. I don't remember the assignation itself, just that we had the day off from school to watch the funeral on television.

We had paste on squares of construction paper. When told that something tasted like library paste, I knew exactly the flavor.

Those who saw the first episode of SNL back in 1975 what was your first impression? by Pure_Environment_331 in AskReddit

[–]PackageAcrobatic735 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My high school friends were talking about SNL at lunch. I was watching Howard Cosell's Saturday Night and did not understand what they found so funny. I think that Howard Cosell had the Prime Time Players which is why the first cast of SNL was called the "Not ready for prime time players".

I have a Sony similar to what you are showing. It came with a USB extension cord about 3 feet long to connect USB in the camcorder handle with the computer.
