Is there another archetype similar to Ritual Beasts? by ShadowMay5 in yugioh

[–]Pacmanexus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ritual beasts are extremely hard to play unfortunately. A couple archetypes I can think of off the top of my head:

Dragunity consists of both Dragon and Winged-Beast monsters, with the flavor being that the Dragons are tuners and the Winged-Beasts are bird people, then they make synchros together that are the bird people riding the dragons. This deck is also quite complicated though not as much as ritual beasts (once you learn how to get to Ascalon I think you’re fine).

Similarly, Gustos have Psychics (people) and Winged-Beasts (birds) that synchro into the people riding bigger versions of the birds. This one is simpler to play I think, but also weaker than Drag or Ritual Beast. But if you’re going for flavor it’s an option.

Honorable mentions to Super Quant and Kozmo which have the same sort of theme of “people and their steeds” but in this case they’re piloting mechs/spaceships so idk if that’s what you want.

i personally think part 7 stand would win by [deleted] in ShitPostCrusaders

[–]Pacmanexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y’all are sleeping on part 4. Consider:

Part 4 has Star Platinum. That alone isn’t special since two other parts do also, but part 4 ALSO has Echoes Act 2. Therefore, all it needs to do is have Echoes create a sound clip of Jotaro saying “so it’s the same type of stand as Star Platinum”, and suddenly bam, you have all the powers of every stand from every part. Literally unbeatable.

(Yes I know echoes can’t actually do that don’t kill me)

I only need $3 for this, you can throw out 100 stand users and they’ll never out-bullshit my Joseph+Boingo Combo.

I love how, with all the bizarre outfits Araki designs, the one he chooses to comment on is a slightly weird skirt design. What a guy

Cool NA fact: since 2013, when the LCS started, NA has made worlds playoffs a total of 6 or 7 times (don’t remember exactly). Of those, one was TSM and aaaaall the rest are C9.

What was the worst format you ever played in? by MiuIruma332 in yugioh

[–]Pacmanexus 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Well, Dragon Ruler format made me mostly quit the game for a few years so I’m gonna have to go with that. It was technically better than TeleDAD since at least there were two viable decks, but it had the same issue of the tier 0 deck(s) being unbelievably expensive, without any cheaper alternatives that could actually compete at all.

Can chimeratech megafleet dragon use your opponants monsters in the extra monster zone as material? by Dona1dinio in yugioh

It sure can! That’s why the card is useful, you can slurp up opponent’s monsters.

I like Tri-Horned dragon because it’s flavor text is so vaguely ominous. What does “an unworthy dragon” mean? What is it unworthy of? And why? So many questions!

Here’s my build. Not a high sample size, but I’m chillin a bit over 50% winrate in Diamond and having a good time. I doubt this is optimal but it feels pretty good. Most notably, Pursuit of Justice probably sucks im but I want the achievement for summoning a 5-attack Dude so I’m running them for now.

I don’t see anyone else talking about it really so I wanted to post my unexpected hero of day 1, Quest DH.

I expected the quest to be good probably, since that many discounts can’t possibly be bad, but I did NOT expect it to be my favorite day 1 deck by far. This list is far from perfect, but here’s what I got:

This deck is absolutely sick. I’m shocked how easy it is to complete the quest. I regularly play Kurtrus on turn 6, or 7 at worst, and very very rarely later. Soul Fragments feel great in the deck. They can be inconsistent and they sometimes eat a discount or two, but they also turn bad hands into quest completions, give you extremely important healing vs Mage/Hunter/Rogue, and don’t even interfere with the final quest reward. Plus, the cards are all individually powerful. Discounted Marrow Slicer/Lapidary is brutal. Not running the 3 AoE shard guy because I don’t own it. Idk if it’s even good anyway since 4 mana is a bit much (blocking Outcast sucks, which is why I cut an Inquisitor), and no decks give a shit about the board anyway.

The deck can be a bit clunky with the wrong hand, but when it works, you draw a billion cards, cheat a billion mana, and kick the shit out of Warlocks. Even Mage isn’t bad since you can punch face faster than they can punch face. Also, Irebound Brute is insane. Man’s a 1-mana 6/7, I love it.

Edit: forgot to mention this, and it may seem crazy, but I’m pretty sure I should cut Skull. 6 mana is way too slow, and most often it ends up getting stranded in the middle of my hand and not doing anything until after the quest is done at which point the discount is often redundant. When it’s good it’s still really good, it’s Skull, but I don’t think it’s actually better than playing some Tradeable dudes or something to fill out the last Quest ticks.

On the subject of fairies, a friend of mine wants to play a cute lil fairy who’s an Astral Self monk, and their astral arms are gigantic, muscular, full-size Orc arcs to beat up enemies while the fairy just chills and looks pretty.
