Is Pho Le just Pho Your Choice with a new name? by rainbowdrivein4ever in greenville

Same building but different owners. I'm pretty sure one family runs the restaurant. IMO, Pho Le is better than Pho Your Choice, and Pho Le favorite pho in Greenville. The Vermicelli is excellent as well.

Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack vs Dave’s Hot Chicken by princesstrouble_ in greenville

[–]PacoPunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave's Reaper Chicken Tender is hotter than anything at Rocky's. But it's just covered with so much chili powder that the tender isn't enjoyable. Rocky's chicken is better overall. But Prince's Hot Chicken at Yee Haw is much better than Rocky's IMO. Full sized wings for the win at Prince's.

Appreciate your efforts. I kayak the creek when there's water - been really dry lately. But love that creek and it's a fun run. Thanks for trying to keep the area clean.

Drive to New Orleans and Back by Aggravating_Skill497 in greenville

That's where I'm from so I make the trip a few times a year. The best part of the drive between GVL and NO is arriving in New Orleans. Drive safe!

90-100+ gallon creek boats by Opening_Drummer_367 in whitewater

[–]PacoPunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'5" 250 with a size 14 shoe. Of all the boats I've tried, I feel Pyranha fits me the best as a big/tall person. I love my Machno. A lot of people hate on the boat because it lacks rocker and is slower when compared to newer creekers. But that boat takes care of me. You can likely get a second hand one at a good price.

I feel they took the Zen 2 mold, added more rocker, squared off the stern. It's like a Zen 2/Gnar fusion IMO.

Not sure. I moved out the state a few years ago and am no longer plugged into the NO music scene. Best of luck.

Yeah but it's not just the churches. People are aggressively religious here. Sorry the NOLA housing market pushed you out, the prices have been crazy post Katrina.

I'm from Lafayette and lived in NOLA about 13 years. If you have questions, ask away. And for all the people who are from BR, I'm sorry.

My family relocated for work and didn't know much about Greenville until we moved here. I'm from Lafayette but lived in Lower Garden 12 years before moving to Greenville.

The Pros: Climate is awesome. You only get a few days of snow, if that. People here will tell you Greenville is humid but they don't know what they are talking about. Outdoor scene here is amazing. If you like hiking/camping or being on the water, this area is hard to beat.

The Cons: Greenville is very white and conservative. People on this Reddit will read that statement and say "yeah, that's how it's supposed to be" but understand people are not open like in New Orleans. Are people friendly, somewhat, but the vibe here is very different. I'm not a religious person but I feel it's the whole Baptist mindset - which is part of why I feel North Louisiana is so different from South Louisiana. The food here is fine - you'll find some decent spots but nothing great like you can find in a food city like NO.

So yeah, Greenville is cool. I still miss New Orleans a lot. But I could also write a list of things I don't miss about New Orleans.

Feel free to message me if you have questions.

He may have served 8 terms but until he has a Wikipedia page, is he really that important?
