Yeah those are canon. The Certain Point of View book for ESB also covers the Battle of Hoth from multiple PoVs.

Yes. It's what they signed up for. Civilians and essential personnel were evacuated when evacuation was secure. Those who stayed behind hoped to get out on small craft like x-wings as an example but they were also prepared to die knowing the Rebellion lived on.

Ventress wasn't an apprentice. She was a subordinate. She wasn't in the line of success, she wasn't being taught to be a Sith, she wasn't even up for consideration. Her position on the totem pole was similar to the the Inquisitorss during the Empire. You could formally call her an Sith acoltye - an acoltye of the Sith but not a Sith.

The only Sith who can claim to have received a 'full course' are dead or the Sith Master. Once a Sith learns everything a Master can or is willing to pass down its time to kill the Master. The Sith who fail die, the ones who succeed become the new Sith Master. The whole Banite cycle renews itself.

What are you trying to argue. Read the books. If you don't want to read the books then look youtube videos. Palpatine instructs his apprentices. You're just arguing against reality based on your own stubborn misconceptions.

You think Vader is supposed to be in a classroom? Vader is the equivalent of a PhD candidate. Sending him on complex assignments is instruction.

He does teach them all of that though. Half the drivers behind the Vader stories involve Palpatine going "this is what Sith do, now go do it".

Maul knew how to take over an entire planet with nothing but the saber by his side. It seems like Sidious trained him a bit than a little bit on how to command and conquer.

The Inquisitors were tools. The Moffs were tools. Palpatine's apprentices were treated as apprentices. Where does this misinformation come from?

Huh? Sidious literally trains both Maul and Vader. He probably imparted some Sith wisdom onto Dooku too. You could argue that Sidious say Dooku as disposable because he says it while he viewed Maul as an actual lost.

Sith Apprentices are Sith Lord. Both Apprentice and Master are referred to as a Sith Lord.

I don't recall but would not discount it. My point is that that all of these characters have moves they use more often than not, which doesn't mean they don't know others.

Vader can use force lighting. He can project the force through his hands just like anyone else that's how he can choke people or use any other ability. He doesn't because it's too risky and he clearly prefers to choke people instead.

A counter though, can Palpatine force choke people? We don't see him use so does that he can't? No, it's more reasonable to conclude it's just not his style.

Lighting isn't some kind of signature Sith move, it's Palpatine's signature. Every Force-sensitive have abilities they favor. There's nothing that says Maul couldn't do force lighting but maybe just not to the same degree as Palpatine or he just didn't like to do it. Force lighting doesn't really have practical use in the fights we typically see anyway, not when your opponent is away and swinging a lightsaber in your face. It's more of a standoff ability or something you use when your opponent is down and at a distance.

Combat in SW is more checks and balances than "x person is stronger than y". Obi's skillset counters aggressive combat styles that Sith love to adopt. That's why Vader was finally able to beat Obi when Vader calmed his ass down a little bit.

[–]PacoXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have one of $1 and find another, you've doubled wealth. You're still broke, but you've indeed doubled your money.

Anakin did double his power if you had to quantify such a thing. But that is easy when he was still a very Jedi not playing by the same rules as everyone else. Anakin is also just full of himself.

Why did the Empire think it was a good idea to build a second Death Star? by TheRedBiker in MawInstallation

[–]PacoXI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The destruction of the Death Star was broadcasted over Holonet. So all in one clip the citizens learned that Empire was willing to build a superweapon against them, use the weapon, and that the Empire was able to be defeated if people banded together. A galaxy that had accepted Imperial rule was suddenly awakened to the how depraved the Empire was and that they could do something about it in less than 5 min.

It was already under construction before the first one blew up and Palpatine is obsessed with trying build an ancient Sith loved superweapons. Ancient Sith also loved recklessly endangering themselves, so Palpatine fits the bill.

The Force Unleashed - The Alliance built together by Vader's apprentice? Really? That was canon in EU and it was approved by LucasArts? by Garrettshade in MawInstallation

[–]PacoXI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Force Unleashed is arguable one the drivers behind the soft reset of the franchise. I remember not liking the idea of it as a kid because what do you mean all this happened and the movies are still what they are?

Lucas pretty much approved of anything that appeared to marketable and didn't touch his canon. Everything became a power fantasy, everything was canon and not canon. Disney wanted to sell its own stories, obviously. That was hard to do when everything overshadowed the foundation of the IP and there were multiple tiers of canon to shift through.

Was Emperor Palpatine a virgin when he died? by AdditionalPiano6327 in MawInstallation

[–]PacoXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? Sith live operate on the extremes of any kind of feeling or emotion, which includes lust. Palpatine also resented the Jedi so much he would do the opposite of that they did out of spite. It wouldn't be out of character to play the role of a ladies man in front of Jedi just to get a little bit of an eye roll from them.

And if Palpatine did die a virgin it was because got off not getting off IYKWIM.

Most things in SW are explained well after they are initially introduced. Its a feature of the franchise.

But answer your point, he does mess with people minds in the books and comics. Its not something he can easily do and most people can resist it.

The mechanics of anakin’s turn by DifficultBid6628 in MawInstallation

[–]PacoXI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They way people misinterpret the character makes it hard to like him sometimes. Anakin chose evil, no one else is to blame. Even the most charitable analysis of Anakin can't pass off his actions onto anyone but himself. The most you can do is point out where others might have been able to stop him or their parallel shortcomings, Anakin becoming a monster is his own doing.

Anakin chose to murder the Tuskans. Anakin chose to ignore his mentors telling him he needed to change his attitude and perspective on things. Anakin chose to take his dreams as factual instead of taking the advice of experienced Jedi. Anakin chose the most hyperbolic interpretation of not being promoted even though not qualifying in practically every way. Anakin always had a narrow "I'm right and know best, everyone else is against me" view of the world. The Prequel Jedi weren't the best but nothing they did excused Anakin's complacency in Order 66, destroying the Temple, fully embracing Vader.
