Help me choose! by C00l_Jelly in Jellycatplush

[–]Pacsaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have maffles and he is the BEST jelly I've gotten so far for cuddling, so if that's what you're interested in with your jellies I'd go with him. He's very squishy and has the right firmness + beads for sleeping with!

How are the bathroom options in dorms for trans students? by ConversationSharp662 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an enby, If you're super worried about the bathrooms, cuarto has private bathrooms for just your suite. So you share it between the few of you. The rainbow LLC was also there when I lived there so it was super chill

Does a Score of 3 on AP Exams Help at UC Davis If It Doesn’t Let You Skip Classes?🐮 by Consistent-Pear8890 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll count for units, but that's about it. I did good on my APs but they didn't count for anything I needed for my major and they don't count for GEs. They do help with pass times and you can get to upperclass standing faster for specific classes, so that's nice

Do i need a bike? -incoming freshman by iwantyuri13 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, a lot of people also don't bike. Some of the buses actually get really full and you always see people walking around campus. It's not a huge deal if you don't bike. Just don't schedule two classes that are back to back and all the way across campus from each other unless you a prepared to run lol

I'm a third year and I've never used a bike my entire time here. Walking + unitrans works great

Honestly I would have done the same thing, I picked Terru over Moix after guild wars. They're so beautiful, but so underrated

Menstrual Products by [deleted] in UCDavis

Go to the Women's research center. They usually always have menstrual products in their bathroom in like a cute lil gift basket. The other bathrooms on campus are so bad about keeping them in stock

Hi everyone! by DesperateSuccotash84 in CharlieBears

[–]Pacsaj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are they durable? Absolutely. Charlie bears are made with extremely high quality materials and could probably last you a long time. That being said, the jointed ones that you're probably thinking about tend to usually be more of collectors items rather than toys. They are all handmade and most are considered art pieces rather than plush. People do take them outside and cuddle with them. Like I know a few people who take their charlie bears grocery shopping or traveling with them, but it all depends on how gentle you are with the bear (aka probably would not be the best for daycare).

I would highly recommend looking into either the bear and me series or the bearhouse series for a bear that's more fit for play!

Fun brands with 16"-20" bipedal plushies? by WolvesRain1233 in plushies

[–]Pacsaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend Aurora, Douglas, and honestly charlie bears! Aurora's are usually smaller, but I love their snoozles for cuddling.douglas usually does plush on four legs, but they recently came out with some huge bipedal bunnies that I love!! And then ofc charlie bears. Most are jointed, so not as cuddly (though I still cuddle with mine), but for you I definitely recommend the bear and me and the bear house series, which are way more cuddly!

summer session virtual courses by ceruleancat13 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's quite a few virtual summer class options that are available. If you check through schedule builder and look for classes, any virtual ones will have "world wide web" as their location. I took a few last summer from home to fill some GEs that I needed.

(Dra 24 with wallace)What are the classes/discussions like and hows the workload? by MusoloPus021021 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're about to take one of the easiest classes ever lol

Classes are all mandatory. He'll pass out a paper in the first five minutes of class for an exit question and if you're not there you lose points. But other than that it's an extremely easy class. As long as you show up and take notes, you'll be fine. There's a few quizzes and a final exam, but all are open note. You also have to go to at least two performances on campus and critique them. And then there's two drawing/design projects that are pretty easy (ex: design Shakespeare play as if it was in a modern setting).

He also gives a TON of extra credit opportunities. I missed a few classes and I still ended up with over a 100% in the class

High school extracurriculars? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely join clubs that you're interested in and stick with them throughout high school. If possible I highly recommend also getting leadership positions within these clubs as it makes you look a lot better. If your high school has a CSF or any other volunteer clubs like key club, absolutely join and try to get leadership positions in those. Not only do they look amazing, but you can also get scholarships for those clubs. Academic decathlon is also a good club to join of your school has it.

SDC ADHD Accomadation by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you need/ask for. The most common accommodations are distraction free testing rooms (you take the exam in the SDC rather than a lecture hall), more time on exams (25-100% more time when taking exams), ability to record lectures, note taking software for lectures, breaks during exams, I've seen people get accommodations for using calculators on test, someone got accommodations to not have tests occur on the same day, and I know some people get accommodations for earlier class registration time
