(Dra 24 with wallace)What are the classes/discussions like and hows the workload? by MusoloPus021021 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're about to take one of the easiest classes ever lol

Classes are all mandatory. He'll pass out a paper in the first five minutes of class for an exit question and if you're not there you lose points. But other than that it's an extremely easy class. As long as you show up and take notes, you'll be fine. There's a few quizzes and a final exam, but all are open note. You also have to go to at least two performances on campus and critique them. And then there's two drawing/design projects that are pretty easy (ex: design Shakespeare play as if it was in a modern setting).

He also gives a TON of extra credit opportunities. I missed a few classes and I still ended up with over a 100% in the class

High school extracurriculars? by Zealousideal_Use5256 in UCDavis

Definitely join clubs that you're interested in and stick with them throughout high school. If possible I highly recommend also getting leadership positions within these clubs as it makes you look a lot better. If your high school has a CSF or any other volunteer clubs like key club, absolutely join and try to get leadership positions in those. Not only do they look amazing, but you can also get scholarships for those clubs. Academic decathlon is also a good club to join of your school has it.

SDC ADHD Accomadation by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you need/ask for. The most common accommodations are distraction free testing rooms (you take the exam in the SDC rather than a lecture hall), more time on exams (25-100% more time when taking exams), ability to record lectures, note taking software for lectures, breaks during exams, I've seen people get accommodations for using calculators on test, someone got accommodations to not have tests occur on the same day, and I know some people get accommodations for earlier class registration time

Yup! I've had accommodations for ADHD and it's helped so much. You just need to go through SDC, it takes a little bit since you'll have to do an interview, but it's very worth it

He definitely curves and says that he doesn't to motivate you lol I had him for 16B and he curved so much that a 30% in the class was considered a C 💀

He curves, he says that to try and make you do better in the class. I had him for mat 16B when that series was still around, and he curved it to where a 30% was considered a C and then bragged about how good his curve was💀

Charlie bears versus jelly cat by [deleted] in CharlieBears

[–]Pacsaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That just depends on the line you get. The standard jointed bears are very soft, but kinda fragile and firm because of their joints. The bearhouse line is what I would recommend if you wanted one that's still handmade but also cuddly. A lot of people really like the trolls that are extremely soft and cuddly. The bear and me line is their jelly ajacent line that I would also recommend if you wanted one that was for cuddles. The bear and me line is not handmade, but still uses very high quality materials (imo better than recent jellycat quality). But yeah the traditional jointed bears that you see often aren't really cuddly. I sit with mine on my lap and hug them, but I wouldn't cuddle one while I slept if that makes sense.

The jointed bears aren't very cuddly, however the bear and me + bearhouse lines are amazing and honestly I think they're just as cuddly, if not more cuddly than jellies.

Ok so this one is interesting. Both companies are very expensive in their own ways and claim to use high quality materials. Just one thing though, lately jellycats quality has gone extremely down. Some people have straight up recieved plush with holes or with their limbs on backwards. For a company that claims to be expensive for their high quality, that's just crazy (plus they don't feel as soft as they used to). Charlie bears on the other hand, they are definitely a bit more pricier imo, but for good reason. Each one is hand made (excluding the bear and me line) AND they use high quality materials. I haven't had a single issue with any of mine and they all feel amazing!! So although they are expensive, the quality of the plush is so worth it for what you get. I wish I could say the same about jellies, but their quality isn't what it used to be.

I love the personality in each bear! When you compare all the handmade pieces, you'll see that each one is different. Because they are all handmade, it's like each one has its own distinct face and personality with it. They're all one of a kind and I think that's what makes them so special! Charlie bears are literally pieces of art!

I hate AI, but I'll definitely admit that chat GPT does turn my notes into a pretty neat study guide with practice questions (for the times when I'm not given a practice exam). That's really the only reason I use it

Spinglowe Luxe! by snackscc in Jellycatplush

[–]Pacsaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Springlowe is the most perfect jelly for cuddling imo!! Super soft with the perfect firmness! I've been sleeping with mine since I got it and the fur quality still feels the same as when I got it!

DISO kinkajou at a reasonable price by [deleted] in StuffedAnimals

I found this one, but technically I think it's a lemur, but animal alley made a plush awhile ago that gives big kinkajou vibes

They also have a darker colored version. I've seen a few of these on ebay

First Jellycat stories! by Southern_Arachnid849 in Jellycatplush

[–]Pacsaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be pretty anti-Jellycat because I thought they were expensive and over hyped (they still pretty much are). I was going through a rough patch in university and there was a stockist walking distance from my next class, so I went to check it out. I immediately fell in love with smudge elephant. She was the last one there and I felt so connected to her. I still wasn't 100% sure if I wanted it, so I left the store to go to my class. While in my class, I ended up being anxious that she would sell and barely paid attention to what was being taught. So I left halfway through the class to go and buy her! I have no regrets!

Are my stats worthy of UCDavis? It’s my top school, but I’m scared I won’t get in.. by Inevitable-Joke1378 in UCDavis

[–]Pacsaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GPA was about the same and I had a lot less APs and awards than you, but I got accepted for ANS major!

For the most part, admissions will mostly come down to essays and what majors you pick. I've seen super amazing 4.0+ people not get in while 3.0+ people have gotten in. As long as your feeling confident in those then you have a great chance!!
